..but it turned out that i caught the most attention under water. this 50pounder was just a little too curious.
beeing "the Whiteboy"it was a little tricky to blend in perfect....
went out to spearfish yesterday with the "Tobago Dark Knights" crew.
the few times i met dolphins close, i realized that they tend to react to different ways how i aproached them.
using the dolphinkick and swimming upsidedown is one way to catch their attention. making beeping and klicking noise can also catch their interest. works with some whales too.
dan,
yeah the glove is latex-coated. but when they appeared, one had a piece of a white plasticbag on his fin.
thats how i caught the idea that they practice this game. they passed the glove from one to each other, and always passed it very skilful form their mouth to the sidefins and the tail.
meeting some rough-toothed dolphin while spearfishing.water was a bit cloudy. see this species for the first time in trinbago waters.
heard they are usually only stay in deep sea. anyhow, never met dolphins that playful.
they finally gone with my glove.fair enough.
merry x-mas and a safe and happy diving year to all you.
happy dive, happy life.
these 5 days in a roll, i was in the water maybe 5-7 hours a day.
we leaving at sunrise, and have to be back around 14.00h , because all the fish should be sold by 18.00h .
fishprices is 20.-tt dollar, (3.-dollar us) a pound, for most of the fish, parrot, margate, grunt etc. for 15.-tt
(2.50 us) .
wow, a world record ? please dont tell anyone, i want to live a normal life. cant afford to become a vip.
just kiddin. hey dan, you really noticed my different hairstyle ? and i get a good tan as well.
well, not only that i have to shoot the fish, most times i also have to shoot the pic.
so it is a white margate, right ?
recently i saw a pic here in this forum of someone caught a white margate. i want to believe it is the same fish that i know as white grunt.they are very rare in trinbago waters. are they anywhere seen more often ?
i caught this one in 2008, 14 pound. taste very good.
hi,
most times everything will sell same day. if something leave back, going on ice for sale next day.
i just had a big piece of tarpon before, we fillet the whole fish, season my piece with som garlic, lime, salt and black pepper, dip it in flour, and fry it till crispybrown on the outside.mmmmhh !
i dont know who ever spread the rumour that tarpon taste bad or have millions of bones.
