welcome Chasing fish!
You could always use a bodyboard in the meantime- pretty functional with only a few mods. A dive float and float line would be a good purchase- usually the only way a dive buddy can keep track of someone's location with marginal vis. And a dive light. -
haha! yes, the spear tips weren't as scary as I thought- but I was thinking the same thing you were at first. I mounted it with four stainless #10 pan head style screws from inside the console wall for each piece. The bungees work nice- real easy and quick. Thanks for the comments Hank!

four gun teak rack with two coats of Sikkens Cetol Natural Teak finish on my 15' side console skiff. The photo of the rack loaded with our guns is a shot of the teak before I finished it.

I live in Los Osos on the central coast. Our spearfishing crew is 5 guys strong (although I know there are more guys around here). I'm hoping to meet and dive with some more people. I've been spearfishing for a year now. I've surfed for most of my life and am comfortable in the ocean. I have a 15' Kalamath skiff that I use for surf and dive trips and a kayak too (on loan from a friend). I've been reading the posts on Speardiver for a while now- great site! Stoked to be an official member now. Give me a shout if you are in the area to spearfish!
