Here are a few. I can post more later but I'm about to go spearfishing right now. Sorry to sound like an ass, just saying it works great with just a single knot. Maybe if you use a thicker band tying line I could see where you might need an extra knot, but for the thin mako line it works great. You can also use line called Dacron that you buy from fishing stores that comes in a spool and would probably be less money then buying it from a spearfishing store. Plus it doesn't ever hurt to make an extra band and keep it in your bag for the day you might need it. I'm always over prepared when I go diving instead of under prepared.

Lost my 140 Rob Allen diving off duck key today

I was at a spot in 20-25ft of water and I left my gun leaning against the back of the boat with my shaft still in the water meaning to get it after i got in the boat and I forgot about it. And when we got to the next spot it was gone

Hopefully someone will find it and can shoot me a pm or something. Id really appreciate it.

BTW, since the shaft is out its probably sitting midwater.

    Jeremy

Went out with some friends for a couple of tiring hours.

    Altogether we shot 2 blacks (26",27") a gag (25") a mutton (22") and 3 hogs (14")

We were from 20-45ft, i was cold at almost every spot.

Wind was 5-10, vis was AWESOME!

Missed a mutton that was EASILY 15lbs.

Will put pictures on once I get them.

The type of bottom i've seen from 50-80' looks similar to canalizo's, it's mostly a reef that has channels of sand 4-5' wide inbetween the reef, that run from the shore out (just a reference, north to south or vice versa)

Here's a video I remember seeing from virgili in cuba that reminded me of the bottom I'm trying to describe: http://www.spearfishingmotion.com/videos.html?category_id=37&subcategory_id=26&video_id=159&current_page=1

Yeah this is exactly how the deep spots I go to are.

But how deep I go all depends on which friends I go with. I usually like going from 30-50ft but if I go with my friends that arent comfortable at that depth I just go to spots from 10-20ft deep. Yesterday we were only about 10-15ft deep the whole time.

Went diving for a couple of hours with 2 of my friends. Vis was awesome inshore, in 15-20ft of water you could make everything out and that was super inshore.

Wind was dead until that big storm hit us and then it got windy.

Only got 4 hogs and 7 or 8 lobster.

Friend said he saw a black close to 30 inches, but he spooked it when he shot a hog right next to his coral head.

Saw a few small groupers, blacks and reds, but nothing legal.

Sorry, No pictures because everyones seen hogs and lobster :D

Went out with 3 of my friends to some shallow stuff, inshore was murky. But found some nice clear areas. Went to a spot about 12ft deep and me and my friend both got gags right next to each other in like the same minute, it was awesome. I was chasing it forever and I was just like whatever its now or never so I swam as fast as I can and took a long shot and got it.

Then we shot some more hogs at the same spot and my friend shot his biggest hog yet it was 16 1/2 inches or 17, cant remember, so he was pretty excited.

Then we went to another spot that didn't have anything but one red.

Then we went to a couple more spots and shot alot more hogs, another red, and got 9 lobster, most of them were 1.5-2lbs.

Bag: 15 hogs, 2 reds, 2 gags, and 9 lobster.
We usually don't like shooting alot of hogfish, but there were alot there, could have easily tripled that, and our moms and people we worked with wanted some hogfish so we got it for everyone

Vis: some spots 5ft, some spots 20ft. But this was inshore, heard the reef was still clear from some fishermen.

Water Temp: Warm, 80 degrees+, not sure.

Wind: 10-15, not fun on a 13ft whaler with 4 people, plus fish, plus dive gear
