Here's a letter you can use to copy and paste. Feel free to change/modify but stay professional.

If so and you would like to continue to do so, I highly recommend you tell the FWC Commissioners. At next month's meeting the FWC staff will be presenting draft definitions of "sport fish" and "game fish". After those definitions are approved, staff will be presenting which fish they recommend to add to those lists. As of today here are the draft definitions:

    Game Fish:
    No or limited commercial harvest
    No sale or limited sale
    Hook and line only

    Sport Fish:
    No commercial harvest
    No sale
    Hook and line only
    NO RECREATIONAL HARVEST

Per the Sept 2012 Commission meeting here are the potential candidates for each of the lists:

Game Fish - Snook and Redfish

Sport Fish - Bonefish, Tarpon, and PERMIT

Yep, they're trying to backdoor a harvest closure on permit after all the shit we went through the last two years. Commissioner Chairman Ken Wright has made it clear that he would like additional protections for permit. Specifically he would like to see permit be designated to the sport fish category and make it catch and release only. According to FWC staff biologists, permit stocks are not even remotely in trouble per the most recent data. There is zero evidence that they have not been subject to an increase in pressure, nor have they been found to be endangered in any way.

So tell me, how is it justified for a single person to force their personal preference on all of Florida’s fishermen regardless of sound science?

In fact, this issue continues to be fueled primarily by a group of catch and release only fishermen (and now apparently Commissioner Chairman Ken Wright) who would like the FWC Commissioners to force their personal preference on all of Florida’s fishermen regardless of the lack of true need, which I believe, is unfair to the citizens and tourists of Florida. I hope you will too.

The FWC resources being spent on this permit sport fish issue would be, in my opinion, better spent on other fisheries which have documented problems, not catering to the personal preferences of Commissioner Chairman Ken Wright and a small group catch and release only fishermen.

If you feel the same way please let the Commissioners know by emailing them your thoughts via this link:

At the beginning of next year we will need to come together and show up at the FWC Commission meetings and tell them in person.

Spread the word through your dive/fishing/spearfishing clubs.

    Thank you!!

Oh and one more thing which I'm sure they're doing but it's worth mentioning. Make sure they are flying into Panama City and then jumping on another flight to Bocas del Toro or at least into Changuinola. The 10 hr+ bus ride from Panama City to Bocas del Toro is BRUTAL, but interesting :D

There are several local fishing outfits down there (in Boca del Toro) that will take you out, just have to ask. Tell them to make sure their trip is planned outside of any Catholic holiday/celebration. The islands get SLAMMED with the locals during those holidays down there.

    For Sale:

    2 Wilderness Systems Tarpon 160 Kayaks (sit-on-top)

Performance Trailer (1-7/8” ball hitch) with custom rack (aluminum) for multiple kayaks and/or canoes

2 Harmony Sea Passage fiberglass paddles

    2 seats

    2 life vests

    2 whistles

Everything you need to hook up and go fishing, camping, or blazing new trails and adventures. These kayaks are a machine for those who have a lot of water to cover and encounter wind and chop. They paddle smooth and track very well. Kayaks, trailer and all gear has been well maintained and cared for along with fresh water wash downs after every use. One kayak is missing the rail carrying strap but that can easily be replaced at any local kayak distributor. Stored outside and always covered with tarp. Trailer is in excellent condition, both tires have great tread, hold air and have never leaked or been repaired in any fashion, includes spare tire for those roadside emergencies. Trailer lights work. I've had 6 kayaks and two canoes loaded on this trailer several times for trips down the Peace River.

Only reason we want to sell these is we have a second child on the way and we know they’re just going to sit unused for a long time.

I used them a lot for near shore spearfishing and fishing.

Very nice!! If there's one thing Pat is good at (besides being a straight up hard working tell you like it is spearfisherman) it's finding food!

Looking forward to more pics and stories as they come in.

I got the idea from seeing a point & shoot camera mounted to an old speargun handle (thanks Nolan!). So I took an Alexander handle off one of my scuba guns (haven't been using those very much) and mounted my GoPro to it. The mount was stuck on to the handle with the stock "sticky pad". Added a lanyard using one of the screw holes in the back of the handle. I was concerned with with the sticky pad failing so I was always checking it but never had any problem. In the near future I'll be modifying this connection so it isn't completely dependent on the sticky pad. I have the lanyard around my left wrist and with one hand I can hold the mount and gun together in such a position that the camera is facing straight down the gun. On my descent I equalize using my right hand and as I approach the bottom I transition the gun into my right hand and use the left to film. I press the record button right before I take my final breathe up. Obviously there is a learning curve to filming and shooting fish at the same time.
