I love RIB boats, but that is an instant fan of inflatables right there.
Seriously, that looked dangerous, they could still see him a few feet on top of them.

Crazy glue
AWESOME.
Heard of it many times, those blue fin tuna had
done that to enough spearos to the point
that one of them actually filmed it.
The best fishing day of his life, no need to pull
the trigger for that.
Some of the guys took a Freedive Clinic with me , we went over the safety part first, since I know very well they tend to go spearing alone, they leave the ramp in groups, but once in the water they go each one his way.
The 3 of them are now oficially in the 100' club.
Here some pics.
mahogany snapper or ojanco. didtn get weight but he was 14 3/4" I believe Florida record is 15"
This mahogany is huge, you should have weighted it.
Feliz Cumpleanos Roberto!! Cuanto anos tiene 30??:laughing3:
My dear friend, I am 2 years younger than you, so I'm 28,
Thanks guys, I really apreciate it.
Thanks guys, I really apreciate it.
Well, it was actually April 13, but I was looking forward for this trip as
my birthday trip, and I can tell you guys I had fun, some video of it coming soon.
Not all of it was spearing, actually, ther only one speared was hooked and they were not able to land it due to a reel failure, and after all the critics to the spearguns were over, sudenly they were asking for a spearfisherman to help land the bigger one.
But what the hell, Last night Ahi poke could not
care less,
Will be eating Sushi and Sashimi for a while.;-)
Yes, we are working on that.
I do have a few videos on you tube.
But spearfishing has never been good
for the general public.
whats fun for me, might not even be understood on a video.
For example, you might be shooting a YF tuna for a kill shot, the video will show a
simple second shot to a tuna on the head, never been able to ilustrate that
the tuna is still swiming, there is current in blue water that you have to overcome, and
that a 250 plus fish is not easy to make a kill shot to, while a smaller tuna you
can make still with a simple shot snywere on the head.
Or more specific to the dog snappers, your friend will tell you there is a Dog Snapper
in that cave and that he has done 20 drops on it and not being able to land it, that
sounds like a good fish to go for.
So you make a aspeto of 2 minutes at 55 feet, and land it while your friend is
on the surface of very clear water watching you.
All you will see on a video, is probably the point of your gun for 2 minutes and a
shot to the head of a snapper who just got his head out of a cave, does not
look like too much fun for the tipical viewer.
Now, you sit down with your friends after harvesting the fish, you increase by 25%
the size of the fish and the bottom time, we will all laugh out loud while they call you lier,
if you add beer to the mix, and some latinos, Hell!, 50% increase might be expected...
Adam invited us to go with him, day was suposed to be a rainy one, since we were going to get wet anyways, we headed out, but were we were it was just gorgeous most of the day.
There was some current, and it was a bit hard to locate these already smart dog snappers, we went to a place that has been fished a lot, and this fish are already on the " lift your fin and am out of here mode".
We got a few fish and on our way back found some local fishermen drifting, they had their bimini top in such a way that they could used it as a Sail, it was actually really funny if you were not in their position.
They had one engine boat, with a smaller engine, they claimed none of their engines worked, it looked to me as if they ran out of gas.
We took a line and pull them to shore.
Here a few pics:
Caramba, espero te mejores pronto.
Normally we try for them, and dont get much, but if we dont need them they are everywere.
We used them as chum.
Welcome.
Had the chance of fishing with Freddie and Joel, it was a few hours in the afternoon, but a good excuse to have fun with the guys.
They pick me up on a lagoon close to my house and from there we went to the coral reefs.
We stopped to get some fresh bait, got a few sardines and headed out.
Here a few pics.
lov the pic.
Looks like fun! And the water awesome...
I need to get into the water!!! It's being a long time since I went out. This fatherhood thing is really serious!
Soccer games EVERY weekend! Buy I enjoy them too.
Nice lobster!
Vamos par de horitas y nos vamos temprano.
Si, el tiene otra creo que 1 pie mas pequena que la vende.
RIB is a Caribe C-12, 12 foot long with an 25 , for its size there are no safer boats, the ones
with the fiberglass floors (hence Rigid Inflatable Boats) handles incredibly well, of course, its
still a small boat, and RIBs lack internal space, but for spearfishing close to shore in a tropical
island, imposible to beat.
Length out 11'6", Length In 8', Beam 5'7", Inside Width 2'8", Tube Diameter 18", Persons 5, Weight 212 lbs, Max Payload 1450 lbs, Max HP 30, Shaft S.
Thats a small Cubera snapper, do you have pics of the inside of the mouth?
Finally Elias decided to go with a RIB boat, so we went to "test drive it", he had gone fishing one day before with it, so this was just an excuse to go spearing.
He went early in the morning to another fishing spot, water was "murky" so he moved to the other side of the island looking for better conditions, thats were I joined him.
Inflatable is small, very easy to trailer and launch anywere, fuel consumption is ridiculous, its rated for 5 people, but that is just weight wise, but is a fun toy to go out in.
In a few hours we took a few Dog snappers, one of these fish was really smart, and it was a lot of fun targeting him , also got one lobster, all in all, we had a blast in just a few hours.
And of course, a short video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSNzyZOLMgY
