This gets abused on mini season, boats with 10+ people and only 2 harvesting :nono:

I almost always forget/lose my stringer, just string the fish through the float line

where abouts in the stiltsville area? main channel? finger channels? I frequent the area.

Hahahahaha! :laughing3::laughing:
I've used a polespear just once while in Bimini and wasn't able to get a single stupid Hogfish!
George: As I said before, my waters are often murky and when they clear up, wahoos show up. So My to-go gun is a 110, wich gives me enough power to take any reef fish and let me get some wahoos if I manage to fool them. Of course sometimes I would like to have a longer gun in my hands, but I just can't take two guns in my small RIB becouse there's no room for it. Sometimes we're 4 on it, so can you imagine 8 spearguns and all the related rigs on it? :nono:
This is a video I took once just to show how my small boat looks in a normal spearfishing trip:
Ale maneja el bote que va full Jun'14 - YouTube
BUT, if I where going to dive in reefs or structure, a pipe gun would be my choice hands down.
I envy that backdrop with the mountains and city so close to wahoo waters :crying:

Nice hog, perfect size for some hogfish tacos

Marco and his boys are the fish whisperers. They shoot big wahoo with 70cm pipe guns
Their hunting skills and fish knowledge are so good that they don't need no stinkin blue water guns like you and me Dude george :laughing:Any day now Marco will post a vid of a wahoo taken on pole spear

What ever it is it sure looks healthy :thumbsup2:

Welcome, look into a riffe euro 110, perfect for our waters imo.

Seen one take a permit and spear from a diver below me in the keys, have had them try to take lobster from me around under bridge pilings too

Thanks DownTime. I appreciate your story and warning. I think IF I ever did go out of an inlet it would not be far (and realize it don't take long for weather to change, even wen close to shore). My friend has only seen pics of my boat, not sure he realizes how low it is....he mentioned a guy he knew that ran dive charters 9th a 14' Panga....but a Panga has a higher bow and maybe higher gunnels than mine. At any rate, I am very spooky about this, as I do not want to lose my rig, or worse. Thanks again for viewing and the message!! Will heed!!
A Contender, that's a BOSS boat right there!!!!Pangas are built for open water, even the small ones. Also be mindful of the tides, sometimes on outgoing tide it gets scary bringing in my 25' through Haulover. Also you don't have to go far to shoot nice fish, I have shot NICE hogs in 5-8ft of water in sheltered water

I have used this bag Beuchat Mundial Backpack for a few years and love it. Keep my gun separate although the bag has bungees for it on the side.

Hows that IPB treating you? I was close to picking one up to shoot around the bay and flamingo in. As far as seaworthiness out of the inlet it would have to be a really nice day (Cubans float over in worse  ) that little boat is worth its weight in gold for inshore lobster though :cool2:

I appreciate all the info fellas! I'm now set on a Speardiver 3mm suit and I think I'm heading down to Fort Lauderdale this weekend so I'll probably stop by the shop and pick out a winner .
I have a Speardiver suit, best suit and you can't go wrong with either. Just rinse it if you piss in it
If you don't make it to Ft. Lauderdale I think shipping was only $10 from Spearfishing Store wetsuits to Miami.

Welcome, I also started with a rob allen tuna but the 110 :thumbsup2: and yes Hogfish is one of the best tasting fish in our waters

Very interesting theory Hank. How can we test this?
Cap and fill a clear snorkel and black, leave in sunlight for a few days.

I am guessing andrew posted this somewhere else? I feel angry and sadden at the same time.
I would also like to know his rate of descent, it sounds like he was pretty weighted down.
