The original Sponge divers in Greece use to use a similar way of diving called a Skandalopetra.
The idea of the Skandalopetra(Petra/Stone for short) was to use a hydrodynamic shaped stone of around 10 kg tied to a rope. They would hold on to it on the way down, do their work, and then they would get pulled back up by the guy or guys on the boat. No Swimming down or up.
If your Cuban you've heard of cordelear or cordeleando which is a similar way of spearfishing.Check this vid out of Nitsch.

Is the only difference the tube????

I believe the better ones are around 30% glass filled. I've seen from 15-30 % though. Thanx.

Jeff,
out of curiosity, what's the difference in strength from the Delrin to the commercial reinforced plastic ones on all the railguns? -
I like it. If they made it in Pink Camo I'd buy it...

If you guys want to see some deep spearfishing and pendulum dives look up Alberto March.
-
I think that some explanation, from the more experienced guys here, should be made about that type of diving(pendulum). It is very dangerous to think that you can just overweigh yourself, with any amount of weight, and drop it at the bottom to come back easier/quicker from a much deeper dive.
Maybe a new thread??? -
I had thought about fiber strands in the foam for added strength too. It would be cool to see how much, of what kind of fiber, and of what size would be the best combo.

Marco,
were yours Sporasub or only H. Dessault? You bought them in Europe? -
-
How did you put the pieces together(delrin and fom)r? Resin? Also, did you buy a piece that long for the Donated gun or did you make that one?
