The graphite is only added because it is believed to lower the friction between the shaft and the track. Other common additives are west systems 403 microfibers. These thicken the epoxy and add a little strength. That being said there are millions of different combinations that people swear by and I have no idea which is the best. If you have already poured the track without graphite then dont worry about milling it out and starting over. There are plenty of people that dont mix anything in and say its just as slick as with graphite.

well that s the answer i was looking for..

"I'm unclear as to exactly what you mean with the angle of the bands in the muzzle, and with the twisted part.
    "
my muzzle has not that much roundover like the nile tec.. i will go for the angle like i said and mount it with the long parabolic curve down to the mech.. will take a foto later.

"Either way, keep in mind that those kinds of muzzles tend to get some vibration from the bands, being as how they spread out and not supported by the stock. Also, if you use a breakaway slip tip the spectra doesn't easily tuck into the bands either."

i have riffe fin shafts with flopper-- but i don t understand when you say it tends to have some vibration..
i guess it could bend slightly under weight and then go back to it s origin when shootin`-- what s the issue with that small bounce? is it noisy?

i found this here and guess it s m6 too, has someone tried this thing with only two screws?

    thanks for your answers..

    hy folks,

first i d like to know if i ve done right using pure west system for pouring a trek...
i didn t realise that the folks use graphit additional and i wonder if i have to mill out and pour again?
    thank you all, already:D

building a va muzzle was my aim which i ve done today. on the nile tec site i found one charging ..50§ bugs uhhh
but the style was nice and i slightly coppied it. they also show pic mounted and now i m curious on how they did..
first- why go for the 90 degree edges of the muzzle towards the mech- i guess this could get a danger zone for the shooting line, won t it? also the maximum band stretch will be achieved better using it twisted..

i was aiming to use two screws m6 instead of three..does someone see their any issues for a threebanded gun 120 cm?:fish:

    best creetings to all...

    hy fellow

mhhhh it could be the easier way doing first the resin..but the only problem water causes is that you have to dry it over a few days at least. others here in the forum are adding weight until the gun starts to sink with the shaft in---- this is the whole ballast. figured this out you can now move this additional weight forward backward finding your preferd ballance.

this method made gun will float without the shaft..if you don t want that thing to float add more weight
    :attack2:

my first gun is that short too wit a six,5 mm shaft..i bought it because of the good handling and travelling with it. first i thought it would be a benefit to ad a second band.

but i m sure my selfmade pole has more range,, pesonally i will give this gun away and i guess you should better do the same.

    creets,,,

i was aiming to ballast my gun with the shaft so it floats without the shaft.

this is the positiv gun isn t it?

i am actually not sure wich shaft to order: it s to different types i m keen on both 5/16
my guns are 120 overall with 105cm from mech middle to muzzle end.

the riffe fin shaft 50" gives me an overhang of ca. 8,5"

the wong fin shaft 57" gives me at least 15,5"

because i d like to travell, shoot and favorable learn on the shorter shaft.. i guess i have to negativ my guns for sinking without the shaft.. how much more weight (oz) we are talking about?

uhh this is not going off topic i hope:nono:

    @ Phil

does a wild - temperamental gun need a longer or a shorter shaft?

or do you mean the shorter the shaft the lighterthe gun - the wilder?

    creets,,

    hy all,

first i got the message my milling mate can only take 3mm shanks in his mill so i didn t ordered the neptonics ball mill cutter:rolleyes1:

    damn
he came from holiday and told me he can hold everything.. super

now i m standing here, my stocks are still waiting in bongossi and ash,, having no ball cutter -and european cutters only have 8 and 9 mm balls 8,5 mm is spezail and costs spezial(60 euro)..so i guess a used one in a small letter would be nice.

    heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp:troll1:

who s selling here one or has got one left i can buy and sends a letter to germany .. paypal would be desirable.

    creets everybody

i guess these drills are expensive. i would highly recommend a permanent oil cooling with maximum speed on the machine.
also a fixed vice would help alot.

to get the feel for a nice pressing it s usefull to grip high and apply with the cellone(underarm( on the lower grip to increases the power and ease..

i m pretty amazed on that drill, by the way.. nice work:thumbsup2:

    :D

    OK butter bei die fische..

to create a AK47 gun with a porsche Cayenne shaft i extract from urs both stats it s better to have a clearance of 0,8 rather than 0,52.
keeping an eye on a small shank as Wood Guy mentioned....alright:cool2:
    no problem!

my blanks are nearly ready to get it on.
    cant wait for it...
