I have a pair of picaso fins but the foot pocket is way to hard and small for me. Can I use a different brand pocket with those blades and if yes wirch one do you recommend?

You should be able to use another foot pocket with the Picasso blades. OMER Stingray are good foot pockets.

I will add as a user of these footpockets that they are very comfortable and transfer energy well to my blades... I recommend at least a thin lycra sock if not a thicker bootie.

what is a foot pocket? i have scuba fins and about to by some picasso blackteam freediving fins and didnt know what the footpocket was and what it did. is the picasso foot pocket decent and comfortable?

A freediving fin is made up of two components, the blade and the foot pocket. Foot pockets can accept different blades allowing the diver to select each of the two components that's best suited for him. In scuba fins it's all one piece.
There's much personal preference in foot pockets selection but some factors are constant, see this thread What makes a good foot pocket. With that said I don't like Picasso foot pockets as they are dated.
