Jeff, I think that has very little impact, the line will need to turn 90 either at the entrance to the metal or once inside the metal piece, and in both cases the bulk of the force will be 90degrees against the metal...that is where the deburring is key.
From a chaffing perspective, yes. But the "line of pull" is concentric with the centerline of the bands in one case (Post 16), and slightly off center in another (Dan's). I agree that it's probably an academic difference. Just curious.

i see, that is true and could in theory cause, or prevent, twisting....give that fixed articulated wishbones dont spin or rotate, I suspect that there is no innate torisional forces on the bands other than the spinning that may occur while loading and setting the bands
