Catalina last Tuesday

  • Visibility ranged from 5-20'.
    Barely any current anywhere.

I slipped quietly through about 5 super dense kelp beds, but none held even the faintest sign of ghosts.
Visibility turned too hazy and milk blue to bother hunting for yellowtail on the outskirts of the kelp, but I did manage to find some decent calicos and a sheephead.

I hear some faint whispers about fish at other locations on the island, but everything immediately West of Avalon was pretty dead and had bad vis.

  • Thanks for the update, I just heard from my coworker who's there on vacation. Water temp at 64 but vis is 15ish mid island.

  • Thanks for the update guys, sometimes it only takes a day to have the nice water move back in.
The red tide at Laguna looks like it's on the way out. I may try to hit it Sunday.
    Cheers, Don
