The wind BLOWS

  • So I spend most of the day yesterday prepping to take my 12 RIB out today. I haven't owned it long enough to get a good idea of milage/range yet. So I ran from Huntington to the LA Light and back at about 18 kts. (about 16 miles round trip) and used about 3 Gal. I refuel (taking an extra 5 Gal) get all my gear ready for a morning run to PV. Then at 1 am I hear it... The wind :angry5: This morning I hopped in the boat and cruised out to the PCH bridge (in HH) and headed back. Pretty choppy in the harbor I don't want to be out any further in a 12' blow up boat with Small Craft warnings. All I can say is this wind BLOWS

That uphill run to PV into the wind will get wet and wild, make sure every thing is lashed down. I hope this wind rolls the water upside down so we can get some vis.

  • Good call. My buddy William and I cruised out to the breakwater in a small craft advisory and seriously regretted it. By the time you get out thinking the wind is getting bad, it gets worse.. wayy worse. We had 3' white caps exploding in our face for an hour and a half, a trip that took less than 15 minutes on the way out.

Thats pretty good for a gallon and a half each way, are you in a RIB?
