Northern Italy, just 45 mins away from Milan without traffic.. Went to Switzerland yesterday just for lunch, and going to Venice tomorrow for the day. I'll take off from the house this weekend and jump on the high speed rail to Rome.. Having the time of my life here!

I'm easy.. @davisdonnell
All of my friends get jealous.. I'm currently in Italy drinking and eating wayy too much..

So jealous! Surprised Tony hasn't blurred the fins on sb yet...

Don- do you have some specs on the parachute you used? I was thinking about a deployable chute off a ten foot bungee with a lobster sized float off the back of my lifeguard can to house the chute. Do you think it is any better than a float chain with two inflatable floats off the stern of a hard float? Starting to think about a trip for big pelagics sometime in the near future..

nice fish and bugs! What kind of boat are you guys out of? from the pics it looks like a decent size vessel!
They are going off a 32' Tiara. Sweet boat

Bummer Don. Last month we voted in 3 new members and the presentations will be made tonight. A certain 3rd generation is one of them....
It's also "Manufacture's Night. Jay Riffe, Guy with JBL, Tom from OMER, & Mori will all be showing off some stuff.
Sorry for any derail. Hope to see the OP there tonight.
:cool2:
It felt so good not being stuck with the 50/50 for once!

VERY dark with the mirrored riffe Naida. Can't use it kelp diving at all. Only for blue water diving. It is my back up. Rarely do I reach for that unless vis is over 50, all bluewater, and very bright outside.
-
I have tried many masks but only found success with the Riffe Naida(sp?). I got a mantis for $5 but its just too big and at the end of the dive slides over my upper lip. I have two of the Riffe Naida, one clear and one mirror. I had one issue with the mirror's frame coming apart, but easily repairable.
Cheers!

I was cracking up! Thanks for posting it up man!

Yup I use a NHT bag. Love it until this opener.
Sailed Friday afternoon in 15kts of wind and 5' swell. It calmed down substantially by the time we went out. Glassy smooth and very light with the full moon.
Went out on Ryan Lawler's boat with Wes Pierson out of Newps. Headed south and anchored at 12:05. Had my first legal by 12:15. First dive. Grabbed a few more just a hair short and got a really nice one about 1/2" over. Went to go hit the same reef on the next dive. Breathing up I see a lobster fly past me.. Apparently I lost weight since last year and my bag slid up, opening it ever so slightly. Out goes the bug that just went in.. After tightening the belt on the bag, I was able to grab a few more with only one more being legal before I got to the burping/swallowing stages of seasickness. Wes got four and Ryan got three.
It was my first time being seasick, no bueno. Could have been the few drinks I had sailing earlier in the day or the Cubans after sailing..
Today was pretty awesome. A friend of my boss was gifted a yellowtail, a dorado, and a hunk of yellowfin. I filleted it up and took a fair share for the effort. I'll be eating all that fall has to offer us CA boys tomorrow, can't wait..
Sorry guys, no pics from me.

Too bad this has to be a super busy weekend at work.. Grr.
I think it might be better to surf anyways. Solid swell coming through. Stay safe guys. Big swells can make it even harder for all the boating yahoos to see you, keep an eye out for the dumbasses...

Pretty cool live cam I found and the cool thing is its in my hometown. I've seen multiple calico and spotted bay bass and saw one halibut and one sandbass on different days. Something cool to eat lunch to...

I use a similar throw line as reel line. Great stuff. I got a 1000' spool and have it on almost all of my reels. I use fling-it 1.7mm in orange. I believe it has 600 or 800# breaking strength.

Killer report. Glad to see you over here

I've read that he goes to fishing and/or surfing trips overseas and forgets about his business for weeks.
Not for weeks, but yes he does take trips and things slide. It's hard to be a small shop with few employees and be able to take a few days off. I expect it to take some time to ship and plan accordingly and order well in advance but new customers don't know that. I guess customers that know the quality take the lack of service as a compromise.
