Alrededor de 20.000 caballitos de mar disecados procedentes del Perú fueron decomisados por las autoridades de Aduanas de Panamá.
Los hipocampos se encontraban camuflados en la parte baja de costales que contenían un cargamento de buche de charela, indicó la jefa de la Autoridad Nacional de Aduanas (ANA) de Panamá, Gloria Moreno de López, en declaraciones a la agencia EFE.
A principios de enero, funcionarios del Ministerio de la Producción y de la Sunat habían decomisado un cargamento de más de 25.000 caballitos de mar que estaba listo para ser comercializado en Hong Kong. La carga ilegal estaba valorizada en más de 280 mil dólares.
Debido a que se trata de una especie en peligro de extinción, la extracción y comercialización de estos animales están totalmente prohibidas en todo el territorio peruano. El Comercio
