Attaching a butt pad

    What would you guys suggest is the best way to attach the butt pad? I have seen them screwed on and other simply epoxied on. The gun is coated in epoxy and the butt pad is made out of a rubber stopper so its pretty hard heavy rubber.

    If the butt pad is the same rubber stopper material that I have used, then I don't find epoxy to bond well. In the past, I have superglued the rubber to a piece of ABS plastic, and screwed the plastic to the gun. But Wood Guy showed me a recent gun where he adhered the but pad directly to the wood, and it seemed well attached. I think he said it was a Permatex adhesive.

    The Permatex I used was Permatex Black Adhesive Sealant #81158. It's a silicone based sealant, so it is relatively flexible, and it's waterproof. The black color blends right in with the butt pad, so it doesn't show.
