Esta disciplina tiene como premisas la ecología, el deporte y la utilidad. Los insulares arrasaron en el primer campeonato nacional de pesca deportiva, ayer en Los Frailes.
Los margariteños hicieron respetar la casa. Los atletas de la Isla arrasaron en el primer Campeonato Nacional de Pesca Submarina de este 2011, realizado ayer en el Archipiélago Los Frailes.
Con la presencia de los 16 mejores pescadores deportivos del país, provenientes de cuatro estados, los locales Anderson Ágreda y Mario Gómez se coronaron campeones en la categoría experto y novatos, respectivamente.
Con la captura de 21 piezas, Ágreda totalizó un total de 66 mil 450 puntos para comandar la tabla en expertos. El orgullo de playa El Tirano fue seguido por el también margariteño Rainer Méndez, con 46 mil 150 unidades. La tercera casilla correspondió al isleño Jhonys Reyes con 34 mil 95 puntos.
Por su parte, Gómez se tituló en novatos con 18 mil 40 aciertos; fue secundado por Luis Díaz, también oriundo del suelo neoespartano, con 15 mil 415 puntos. En esta división no se premió a un tercer mejor ubicado. Para definir el marcador para cada atleta, se evaluó tanto la variedad de peces como su peso.
El dirigente Oscar Ruiz detalló que la justa nacional, la cual duró cinco horas, contó con 11 participantes en expertos y cinco en novatos.
El evento sirvió para que la Federación Venezolana de Actividades Subacuáticas hiciera la evaluación, con miras a conformar la selección tricolor que asistirá al Campeonato Panamericano de pesca deportiva, en septiembre en Colombia. Se espera asistan cuatro criollos.
La segunda válida nacional se efectuará en el estado Miranda, en el mes de julio, para así definir los campeones en este 2011. Ruiz, comentó que la pesca deportiva tiene tres principios fundamentales: ecológico (captura con peso mínimo), deportivo (dificultad para la atrapada) y utilitario (toda captura debe ser comestible).
Igualmente, en playa El Tirano se dictó una charla de sensibilización a los pescadores y se dio a conocer la estructura deportiva. También, la Dirección de Armas y Explosivos de la Fuerza Armada de Venezuela (DAEX) hizo un operativo para otorgar porte de arpón.
