Hey all,
I have a passion for doing new and exciting things. I have debated for a long time whether or not to take up spearfishing after many years of line and bait fishing. I finally made the decision and recently bought a 6' Spear Pole and will be looking to get the rest of my gear this weekend.
So with that said I do not have any backround in the art of pole spearfishing nor do I have much experience free diving. I am a very strong swimmer and grew up surfing in Manasquan, NJ.
To me there is no greater feeling then being able to provide a meal for yourself from start to finish. That is my ultimate goal I want to reach doing this.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!
First I need to figure out what kind of fins, mask/snorkel, and weights to get?
