My friend Anders is going to be my house guest this week end. Looking to get him on a Catalina dive trip this Sun (4th) if some one has space. I hear he is a halibut slayer,:D
Cheers, Don

I have a feeling that water is FREEZING, other wise I like it too
A Catalina trip would be great
The water in the pic isn't too bad, around 8 C (46 F)
Did you guys make it to Cat? report?
We just went to a local spot at Hotel Laguna;) to see small WSB and monster bugs. He is on his way South this AM to look for the larger ones, than on to S.D. for another dive Tues. We should be getting a post from him later in the week before he heads back on Wed.Ander's was great to have as a guest and we wish him a safe trip home. The water was 55 degrees and vis in the kelp was 15 to 20 on the 3:00PM to sunset dive.
Cheers, Don
I had a great time in So Cal with a bunch of great people, but no white seabass spotted. I did see a lobster, a bunch of calicos, huge amounts of kelp and a Mola mola. All were firsts for me so I had a great time even though I didn't see any WSB. I'd definitely like to come back some time, hopefully a bit later in the season when there are more fish around.
Thanks to all the guys who helped me get in the water, and especially to Don for your great hospitality! I had a great time both in and out of the water :thumbsup2:
Thanks for the nice words Anders, our home is always open to you and family. Thanks for the Mack beer and Loitens Aquavit. It was fun having you, we'll get some pelagics next time mate.
All the best, Don
