New from Crescent City, CA

    My name is Mike and I've been free dive spearfishing in the Crescent City murk for the past four months. I'm looking forward to sharing anything I can to help anyone in the community or maybe even get a few pointers myself. Maybe even meet a few people and set up some dives.........not too many people are willing to dive in 4 ft vis with me up here!!

    Do you have a brother named Matt? Have we met?


    I dove up there for the last ~five years. No where else in the world can you shoot lingcod, rockfish, and California halibut, while grabbing a limit of Dungies, razor clams and abalone on the same dive. Then when you get out, throw your cast net for anchovies to make some 'fries with eyes.'


    And it does get pretty good sometimes...

    welcome...i have to give the +1 to Kirby here....I cannot deal with your viz or water temp, but the biodiversity and the ability to pick fungus...you guys have it made :)

    We haven't met, I moved down from Eugene two years ago for work. I dive with a guy named Kurt Anderson up here and I think he knows you.


    Crescent city is an amazing place to dive, I'm itchin to get out off south beach and dive for razors and halis!! Sweet videos by the way, all of the miodios are amazing!!

    When the bait is in on south beach, dive. I miss it up there and really look forward to pictures and reports when you make it out.
