The new guy from Upstate New York

I am a certified scuba diver in upstate New York and dive often in Alexandria Bay but spearfishing has recently peaked my interest as something new and exciting. I am interested in looking to get involved and learn the ropes, but I don't know where to even begin (more so in this area) as I only know a few dozen upstate New York locals who dive and none that spear. It is my hope to learn from everyone on this forum and hopefully meet some great people with great advice along the way to break me in!
