Can this be real?

In a word... No.
There's a reason they don't put 100% oxygen in SCUBA tanks. It's because of Oxygen Toxicity.
But if you're interested in the science behind why it's just wishful thinking, check out this article.

It would be a cool concept however.

besides us not being able to safely run on pure O2 , a problem with dis design will be to allow enough water flow over the membrane to enable the adequate amount of gaseous exchange to support life, this is the same reason we can't breathe under water with our lungs, plus i doubt it can compete with the surface area of our lungs. but extremely interesting.

Triton not. Dive, or dive not, there is no Triton. | Deep Sea News

Good point but rebreathers have elements in them to put back in gases so it might have been plausible, but it is/was just wishful thinking on my part  bummer!

It's great to dream, kind of like flying 500 years ago. Technically we just are not there yet. The article to rebut it was pretty good.
It will play well with the boys out there selling "Free Energy from Air crowd".
Some day maybe when we get a whole lot smarter and have more technical break through.
An implant in the body that controls the O2 going into the blood and the exhaust of C02 might be closer to reality, where the Lungs are not used. Goes towards that Movie where they breathed Liquid O2, but ignored the temperature of it. Out of the box thinking thou.
Been reading on Supercavitation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia lately. Lots of interesting ways to do things.

I saw a few tests a couple years ago where they filled the lungs (of some animal) with an oxygenated liquid. They are still working on the technology with hopes for applications with trauma victims, space exploration and deep diving.
It is "possible" but the technology doesnt yet exist. Who knows what the future holds.
