Just back from the south coast of Cuba
Despite about twenty trips don there for fifteen years and it seems to me that each expedition is a new challenge;)
Rented a catamaran because of the fact the main goal was to try boating to Jagua Bank located in the middle of nowhere.
An about 3 miles wide reef coming up to 10 to 20 meter depth from the abyss (3000m) and located far of the Cienfuegos coast
Lucky to get a sea shortly becalmed that allowe me to get there, most of the time navigation is dangerous and diving impossible. The week before:( two experienced cuban spearo got lost in the open sea at the time they were staying there guided by a fishing boat... probably attacked by sharks which do patrolling. the current is strong 3 to 4 knots.
could dive only 2 days in the multiple wrecks at 15/25m
Did wreck vid and take several winter cuban fish: perro perro and pargo
probably on of the first no resident to hunt there?
