new to the ocean (NorCal), but not first time in a water

  • Hi!

I've recently relocated to the Bay area, and now seeking for locals who do spearfishing. Before I was living in Russia, and even before in Ukraine, and even before in USSR.

I've been spearfishing since I was a teenager, but obviously that mostly happened in fresh water. I hunted pike, catfish, carp, walleye and various other freshwater species. Once I've been to Norway, where I had a bit of ocean spearfishing experience.

I have lots of experience with bad clearance, darkness, logged overhead environments, ice over head, forsaken fishing nets, and all other pleasures. But I was always absolutely sure that I am the top of the food chain in that waters :D Which is not the case here at the Pacific :@ So, I'm kinda scared going freediving Pacific on my own, and thus seeking a locals who dive, to join them. Learn tactics, safety measures, what's different about gear, etc.

So far my biggest fish was a catfish of 27 kgs (59 pounds).
