    Thanks guys :)
Rarely have I ever seen a happier guy than my friend Jeppe - he was over his gun the whole weekend:D
We were on a boat trip from friday to sunday - and immediately he started raising his hit percentage, never missed a fish. Nothing better than when you believe in your gear:)

I'm quite excited today - I'm going to hand over this gun to my friend Jeppe.
    He doesn´t know.
I'm always thinking improvement - what can I do better with my next build...
Better design - better build sequence - better use of materials - better weighing - better grip - better everything.
With this one, the design out performs some tube guns. I tested the percieved "swingability" against a 10 cm shorter Omer Cayman - the Omer lost...
I have used Jatoba in my laminate, instead of using lead on the final weighing and the gun has come out a tad heavy (but balanced). Still floats with the shaft out, but not the "faithful dog" by my side that I prefer. I'm thinking it will be good on drift dives over cod grounds.
I'm trying to get it as neutral as possible by using different spears, and has ended up with a Trygons 6,25mm.
The design is a kind of derivate from the Abellan, with the band rising front - and it is a sweet shooting gun - very linear recoil and no muzzle jump.
Despite it beeing a tad on the heavy side I hope that Jeppe will be pleased with it - I want to explore this design further.
My next project is my new hybrid... - I will post.

Why is that? Iv never tried one but also never felt that urinating in my suit made me colder or shortened my time in that temp of water. I'm always interested in what you guy's over there are doing because its more like my area then the rest of the US.

You can get a severe rash from the urine. Your wetsuit will get really smelly over time - and it's hard to get rid of the smell.
I believe that if you warm water guys pee i your wetsuit, you can always flush your wetsuit whilst swimming - we don't have this option without shortening our dive considerably.

We northern divers use these - it looks ridiculous! :laughing3: But drift diving one mile from shore, in 40 degree F water, you just don't drop your pants - and you don't swim to the shore - and you DON'T piss your pants. So pissette it is.

What I really like is to get up early in the morning, when everything is quiet, no noise, no kids, no wife - just the cats greeting me when I go to my workshop in the barn…
The smell of freshly cut wood - teak - mahogany… This is what met me this morning - a ray of morning light across a piece that I'm working on as a surprise for a good friend…

I really appreciate these quiet mornings!

    Nice! Love the contrasting woods.
Have you ever experienced problems with delaminating?
Do you take the properties of the different woods into account when you laminate?

Thought I would give it a go on building a bigger hybrid than my previous, but going with the same type of design.
I have chosen to use components out of www.spearfishing.store as Dan got my mind turned towards his double muzzle.
I have ordered a double muzzle, a 120cm carbon barrel to go with the muzzle and the Meandros reverse mech. I guess it will turn out 140ish.
Got the components and I am drawing on the project right now - want to have it all planned before I cut.
I am stoked with the quality of the components - the carbon barrel is in a league of its own. I have a similar tube from BleuTec and its no match at all.
The Meandros mech has two ways of attaching - either with traditional pins through the mech or with screws from the top (like Abellan). I have not decided on that yet.
The body of this hybrid will be made of Sapelli and will be painted using the swirling technique of my previous hybrid. I am not settled on any particular color yet, have thought about red/purple/white - maybe I can have your input on this. My biggest hurdle must be letting the tube into the wood - I only have a 30mm ball bit for my router and the barrel is 28,4mm - so far the plan is to shim??? the barrel with narrow strips of wood glued on to the barrel.

    I will post pics as I progress…

Sorry to hear about your declining business Darren, hope you ride out the storm.
At least you have time to build your beautiful guns then...:)

Nice gun in your post, but I was thinking, why do you carbon wrap?
Is it for looks or for structural strength, allowing you to build slimmer guns?

    /Henrik

This swirling technique produces some unique results.
I found that swirling on a white base coat makes the colours more vivid.
I produced better results when I heated the water a little (NOT WARM), the colours spread more easily.
Try using as little amount of paint as possible - if you build up a thicker layer it will show as little bumps under your epoxy. The swirl can NOT be sanded - it will ruin your pattern.

    Thanks Darren.
I will be recieving a small batch of trigger guards that is build to my specifications tomorrow.
Profiled and polished stainless steel. I will post a pic when I have installed it.

    And welcome to our forum.
