Nice clip. I've always been intrigued with Finland, would love to visit someday. I'm sure they have good shooters as the best sniper ever was a Finn;

Dan's comments are so heartfelt that he even went as far as creating his video rendition of one of Stevie's greatest tunes. Dan's lost some hair lately, but can still hum a tune. Dan, we love you too brah!

First thing I thought about while watching these are the paparazzi . An underwater bubble blowing version just as annoying.

Very cool. My mot favorite fish ever to shoot. I wish I had them up this way. I miss the waters down south.

I watch it last night on the iPad with my three year old and he kept asking to play over and over again. He kept bursting in laughter on the toilet flushing at the end. Yes, my boys are big on toilet humor and think farting is another form of communication.

Brilliant. Love the lie detector shot.

Pistol grip sling or pole spear. I had similar issues when I first went there.

Nice! You used it with just one band?
I did. Only as its a personal preference from a comfort level of always using one. However, two bands would be ideal for most. As I don't use reels and always just one wrap, this configuration works for me (for now) as it is a 20mm short lenght rubber. Thanks.

Wanted to share my initial experience with this gun after purchasing a short while back. I figured I'll add it on to this thread rather than a separate trip report. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get out much this year with a newborn that arrived along with my other 3-year old and the selling of my boat earlier this summer, which left me without a vessel for the first time in 13 years. In any event, I was able to dive this past Thursday with the gang in the keys.
It was an afternoon dive with 4-6 foot rollers and first and lone spot of the day was 80 feet at the top rolling down to about 110. I was anxious to test my luck with this new gun, but would have preffered at a more manageable depth considering my long layoff and more ideal conditions. Anyhow, after a few "gather your bearings" dives, I dove down until the bottom opened up and I could scan the bottom. I was able to spot a nice not huge black grouper and give a quick chase and closed the gap. He gave me a vertical shot and I took it hitting him behind the eye, but not stoning him. I was able to keep him out of a hole and off the bottom away from the potential Bull sharks that roam this spot. I was a great way to initiate this gun with a shot that hit where it was aimed and landing of a prized quarry. We ended up with a limit and had a successful afternoon.
I've always shot pipe guns and was always partial to my Rabitechs. I still am to a certain extent, but have now made the switch to this smooth shooting teak gun. I was really impressed on this first shot and how it performed over the course of a few days. I can't wait to use it again soon. Thanks again Dan, I really like my new toy!

This is one of the most impressive wood guns, I've ever laid eyes on. So much so I had to order one and can't wait to get it in the water and shoot it. The pictures, however impressive still don't do it the justice as holding it in your hands. It's a beaut for sure.

I've tended to shoot all my Dog Snappers in caves. They typically do peak even after heading for the labrynths of their caves. There's a few other tactics I've used to get them out. The two below are from more tropical environments in Miami and Upper keys. Up where I'm diving now, there are quite a few sea urchins in and around their holes. If I spot one that is darting in and out of holes, I'll dive down for an urchin and crush it outside the entrances of their lairs. It's only a matter of time, before they are back out and I may get another shot at them. Either way, they tend to be one of the more cagey snappers, but not as difficult to shoot as the mahogeny or yellowtail snappers.

Excellent fish.

Watching this stuff, I could not help but think of this:

Excellent Hog. Those are so impressive when you see them live or laying in the cooler. Was someone tickling Alan's soles of his feet or whispering sweet nothings to him? He's cracking somewhat of a grin. :@

Come down. No state taxes. Real estate still depressed but may have hit bottom in some markets. Decent gun laws and hunting too.
