Very nice video. I really like the clean water and those reefs.

I don't oppose the idea of creating a club of our own but there are several different clubs in the area that we could join/improve. I tried the Longfins for a while and I didn't like the philosophy behind the way they operate. I know several different individuals from the extreme divers club, some are even members of this forum. I dove with "Speedy" one of the founders of the club (correct me if I am wrong) along with other club members and I don't have a single complaint. They have a very upfront and rational boat policy. They are not out to screw other spearos, they are willing to share what they know (spots included), and their main focus is not to accumulate points for nationals which makes the diving a whole lot more enjoyable. Now if you still want to go on with the Club here are the names I can come up with?
East Coast Spearos/Speardivers
Breathold Divers
Blue World HuntersI don't know what else we could call it. I guess I am not very creative but I'll keep thinking.

That's sounds like fun. I tried calling Joe but I can't get through, ironic isn't it.

Joe doesn't have internet at home, just give him a call. I am sure he wants to go. I'll would call him my self but the 3 hour difference would force me to wake up super early to let him know on time.

That's sounds like fun I wish I was closer.

Well, I agree I think it is a great idea. IMHO it is the best way to meet other people with similar interests. It sucks not having someone to dive with, and I am sure that we can all learn something from each other. I tried the longfins for a while but that did work out. SOME of the guys there were all about getting points towards nationals and screw everyone else. I like competing as long as everyone is having a good time and I don't a problem with sharing what I know (fishing spots included).

I used to catch them in Cuba every now and then with something call sigua. It a small mussel creature with shell and all (the shell usually seen on little hermit crabs) that is live on the rocks where the waves smash against. But I am sure you can catch them with macao (hermit crab), I don't know a single fish that doesn't bite with it. I am sure pantoja can elaborate on this.

Thinner sock.

Sorry about your loss Don. Thank you for sharing.

I never had an issue peeing inside my wetsuits. I really wish I didn't have to but it is what it is.

Nice report and even nicer catch.

Enjoyable report and nice fish.

Yeah, for 80.00 dollars I could be willing to overlook a couple of things. Let me know where I can get them for that price.

Sorry CWW180, I know of multiple different people that share the problem. You can get by by setting the drag of the reel really tight and putting as much pressure as possible on the line release. That is what I and my dive buddy used to do but it can really piss you off when you try to shoot a nice size fish and you miss it cause the line release didn't deploy and you only got less than 50% of the gun's actual range.
-
The problem is I use reels with my guns. The line release wouldn't release the shooting line unless I had good amount of pressure on the line. This is not necessary if you don't have a reel since the bungee keeps enough tension on the line for the line release to work properly. I had a Spetton/Demka gun so I used the gun as it came, no custom barrel. Everything else on this trigger mech is great. Pablo, the Spetton dealer in US was supposed to tell them but I guess they didn't care enough to change it.

Demka and Spetton are the same thing.

Yes, you nailed it.
