    1. Which is your favorite eurogun handle?
    - Rob Allen Vecta handle

    2. Which other eurogun handles have you tried?
    - Sporasub Black viper, Omer cayman, Picaso, Rabitech, Aimrite, Cressi (all of them), Spetton and Beuchat.

    3. What do you like about your favorite?
-Reliable, durable, comfortable, affordable and easy to maintain.

    4. If there's something missing that would make it absolutely perfect what would it be?
    - I like lateral line release better than the current set up. If it were stainless steel it would be even better. If Spetton fixed their little issue with their line release it would be the perfect handle for me.

By the way when are your wetsuits going to be ready?????????

There were a total of 7 guys in my division. So I had to fight 4 different times. I wasn't able to upload the first two fights because vimeo only allows 500 mp per week. The matches in the videos were won by ippon. Hopefully I can finish uploading them next week.

No, I am still a white belt (I wish). I had the choice of either change to my blue gi or just trade my belt for a blue one so the judges could tell us apart. I wish I knew how to make the actual throw in slow motion and add some background music but I am still learning. I lost my first match due to a pin by the guy in the first video. The second match I won by choking the guy and making him tap out. I am glad you guys enjoyed the videos.

Well, since I had no one to play racquetball with during the summer I picked up a new sport. This time it was Judo. I have practice wrestling in the past in my early high school years which helped a little. I have been doing it for 4 months now and my coach felt I was ready for local tournaments. This past Saturday was the Rainier Cup Judo Tournament. Only 4 people from my judo club signed up for it, I was one of them. I've always been very competitive/sore looser and I was extremely nervous going into this. Plus I didn't want to let my coach down and make a fool of my self. I competed in the Novice division 160lb bracket. There were a total of 7 guys in my weight class. I had to fight 4 times and was able to bring silver to the club. I will attach a couple of videos my girlfriend managed to get hope you enjoy them. Maybe next time I wont be as tense and nervous as this time but all in all I feel satisfied with the outcome. Plus now I have a better idea on things I need to work on, and what the tournaments are like. Here are the links, I couldn't post the actual video I forgot how to.

I had just emptied the mag and decided to pose for my girlfriend to take the picture (you can see a guy in the background holding it on his left hand). That thing shoots super nice, it has less recoil than a shotgun. About the salmon roe, I plan to prepare a beer batter and deep fry it. I'll keep you guys posted.

Well, here in Seattle WA spearing is not an option so I had to find ways to stay busy. I've been doing some scouting and target shooting for the upcoming deer hunting season. I don't own any firearms but these guys have some serious fire power. We shot some clay doves with pump loading shotguns and as well as a 10 mm pistol, M4, 357 and 22 caliber rifles. I had my girl snap some pictures and figured I shared them with you guys.

This past weekend I went salmon fishing. We went out of Sekiu about 6 miles out into the strait of Juan de Fuca. We limited out on both days. These are Coho Salmon (aka silver salmon) ranging from 10 to 15 lbs. Most of the fish caught were females and they were stuffed with eggs/roe. I never seen or had any salmon roe before but I will soon. We also ran into some big squids. We managed to catch one that weighted 20lb before gutting. These particular type of squid is known as Humboldt Squid. The last time they were spotted in these waters was back in 1930 so I felt really lucky.

Yes Tin Man, you would have to start with a slightly larger piece of delrin. But like I said previously, I am happy with mines the way the are. I don't do shoot inside holes or aim upside down with my 120 or 110. As long as the shaft doesn't come out when tracking a fish laterally I am fine.

I was reading the review posted by hau and I totally understand what he is saying about the pin angle. For some reason I don't have that problem of the shaft falling out of the rail on either of my guns. I use a reel just like him, but I have the drag set in such a way that the mono/shooting line is always under enough tension (like with a bungee) to keep the shaft in place. I think that a better solution would be to have the U shaped track of the muzzle a little deeper allowing for the side to help holding the shaft in place. Tin Man is anyone else having this issue with the muzzle? Thanks for the PH testing by the way.

Wow, so you are back to your old self. I am really happy to hear that. Get some more videos whenever possible please. Not a whole lot of diving here in Seattle.

One thing is for sure, you wont find many of those around these parts. Enjoy it and keep shooting those big mutton, by the way how deep were u?

Ok, I see where you are coming from. So, if we mount the Abellan gun and a equally rigged gun (of any brand) to a vise allowing no movement/recoil they will shoot the same right? By the way shooting to the end of 2 wraps with no drop is very good. At the end it does comes down to personal preference and you being happy with it.

I am passing this along to you guys. Some of you already know about it but they are collecting signatures and I figured the more the better. After all it is going to affect US in particular.

"New proposal about to take effect that could ban spearfishing in Biscayne National Park, need your help right away"

    explanation as follows;

The South Florida Free divers club seeks your support on a very important matter that affects the spear fishing and the diving community of South Florida. The National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior (NPS) is developing a new fisheries management plan for Biscayne National Park.

Our club is very much in favor of protecting and preserving the natural resources and the marine life contained in the park’s waters, and historically has participated in many fisheries events to help the resources, but as a whole, we feel that the plan has been discriminatory and unfair towards the sport of spear fishing in particular.

Several NPS meetings have taken place and we have very little time (October 6) is the deadline before this could become another restriction.

Other ways we feel that would contribute are:

    1) Mandatory boating license to operate a motor vessel in the park:

This would help in reducing the number of boating accidents, damage to marine life and less dependence on law enforcement.

As a frequent diver, we constantly witness the lack of diver flag awareness and good boating practices.

    2) Mandatory training on fishing regulations:

Anyone with a fishing license can catch a fish, many people lack the knowledge about fish identification, legal size/quantity, etc. Proper training would help in reducing the decline in fish populations of many species.

    3) More effective law enforcement:

Perhaps the most critical and important of all. Most of the time, the enforcement occurs at the dock and not on the water, like it was said in one of the meetings, “You don’t see a hunter shooting a buffalo inside Yellow Stone National Park ”. Key Biscayne National Park is a park and should have similar enforcement

    4) Commercial fishing inside park waters:

Shrimp trawlers, lobster traps and other commercial fishing devices cause extensive damage to the sea grass and reef and impact juvenile specimens that depend on these areas to survive. This should be reduced or completely banned.

The proposed Alternatives 2, 3, 4, & 5 lack the data to support targeting spearfishing as the solution. Fisheries management data as pertains to spear fishing methods is needed; Scuba versus apnea. Trigger vs. sling. Fisheries data as compares spearfishing to line fishing to commercial harvesting (traps, drag nets, other).

The proposal to protect fisheries by limiting the fisheries method of spearfishing is lacking the data to indicate the impact on the desired fisheries (i.e., groupers and snappers) from spearfishing versus other methods; line, or commercial methods.

The proposed overview of Alternatives does not take into consideration the impact of each method to fisheries; To determine what method has the greatest impact to target fish near (or below) the minimum size; To determine which method has the greatest impact to species selectivity; To determine what method most impacts maims and mortally injures fish not boated. To determine what method had the greatest by-catch kill. To determine what method has the greatest overall impact to overfish.

The alternatives proposed (Alternatives 2, 3, 4, & 5) all target spearfishing with no support in the date. Besides, isn’t easier to enforce alternatives that treat each boat the same? Wouldn’t it be easier to tie up to a boat and simply count the number and size as limited rather than try and prove the location and method taken?

We would like to scrap Alternatives 2, 3, 4, & 5 as these are discriminatory against spear fisherman without the necessary date to support these alternatives
