Cool colors on the fish and awesome waters. I was wondering when we were going to see a new thread from PR.

Welcome. You got some really cool videos.

I've never used a Mako so I can't say anything positive about them. I have used rob allen, speardiver, cressi, omer, beuchat and seac sub guns and I can tell you that I prefer the speardiver. It's built the way I want it from the get go with open muzzle, dyneema wishbone, 7 mm spear with the perfect overhang and it weights less than the rob allen so tracking is even easier. That being said I do agree with Lunker, try (in the water ) as many as you can get your hands on.

Girlfriend is in PR now visiting family on Culebra til saturday. I know absolutely nothing about puerto rico and diving there,Yet she has been calling me every day telling me how perfect the weather and water is and telling me i need to get down there to spearfish. yea, my girl scouts out dive spots for me... :thumbsup2:
ill be coming in may for a week or so after our college semester ends. What kind of gear should I be bringing for reef diving, what should I expect to shoot... depths I should hunt at, licenses needed, anyone want to link up etc. Sounds like ill have boat access as well. Thanks in advance, looking forward to this trip!:thumbsup2:
Great bottom structure with crystal clear waters make for awesome diving. If you enjoy Latin cuisine their roast pork and mofongo is kick a$$. There are a bunch of PR guys here in the forum that could hook you up. Have fun

Wow Marcos, good eyes.

I would say the nerves got the best of you. You may think you did everything correctly but excitement and anxiety probably did you in. I know it has happened to me a couple of times with big muttons, on broad shots of all shots. In my case I would rush the shot not aiming properly and completely missing the target. But don't worry, you'll get another chance.
-
That was a very trusting mutton, definitely not typical mutton behavior. Very nice shot though.

South of the port. Looking at the South Florida webcams while being in Washington, why would you do that to yourself?
Gives me hope and something to look forward to.

Beautiful conditions this morning. As I was launching, I felt bad for you guys who had to go to school, work, fly to Hawaii:rolleyes1:......... ~50ft vis in 40+fsw. Hardly any current. Wind picked up as the day went on, but it was still beautiful when I got out. 3 hogs and 2 mangroves. I counted 8 man-o-wars on the paddle out.. be careful guys.
I was looking at it this morning on the webcam. Too bad I am in Washington, it looked like a really good day today. Were you north or south of the port?
-
Wow, that's an awesome cooler for sure.

Cool underwater pictures and that is a fat hog for sure.

I just love meticulously packing my banks board the night before diving. Going through my checklist. Double checking the weather. Going out tomorrow off Fort Lauderdale with Judah and Frank. Not the prettiest day I've ever seen projected but were gonna try to make the best of it.
I am the same way. Every time I went diving I spent hours the night before going over every piece of gear. Checking the bands, spear tips, sharpening the knife etc... In the morning I just needed to grab my two guns and my fin bag carrying everything I needed it inside it except for the weight belt. I can say I never lost any gear and my stuff was never in other people's way. Luckily for me my dive buddy was the same way so it worked out perfectly.

Congratulations! Thank you for the opportunity Dan.
