I had a strange nurse shark encounter yesterday too...one snuck up behind me and came all the way up to the surface to check me out...instead of the usual opposite of me chasing them haha.

Please familiarize yourself with this thread about giving away locations http://spearfishing.world/foru…earfishing-locations.html
No problem Dan...I edited out the street names from my post.

it is really shallow and quite close to the shore so I have never found any shootable fish, HOWEVER, i have seen the only two octopuses I have ever seen in the wild on those boulders as well as more unique sealife than most of the other places i have had the pleasure to dive.big rays and eels etc
I never pass a chance to at least hit them up to see what's home.
Hey Lunker
I found these boulders quite literally by accident the last week when I was out swimming on the first reef line. As I was coming back in, I swam over them, so I hung out there for a while. I saw lots of fish life like you were talking about and 1 tarpon and I remember you talking about these boulders from seeing this post awhile back.
And I did see a few tarpon as I was swimming back in to shore.

Nice hog man!
That was my buddy in the picture who shot it. We saw him go under a rock and waited about 30+ minutes for it to come out!

Nice man. We coulda met up if I knew you were going out. I went today around that time as well but a bit more north. Viz was ok until around 12 or so when this green diarrhea water starting moving in where I was fishing lol

Damn that sounds like an epic day indeed! I haven't been down that way in a long time. Is there anything down that way close to shore within swimming or yak distance or is it primarily boat only?
Can't wait to see the pics/vids!

Swam off of Pompano today just south of the pier. Reef is about 700 yards or so offshore. Depth at the sand is around 25ft... Viz was decent. Winds weren't as calm as yesterday but seas were still relatively flat. Didn't see anything worth shooting at but was only in the water for about an hour or so.
