The real problem is how gagged you guys are and how little your law makers care about your reports or about the facts.
Here is an interesting question. You cannot transport shelled abs or sell them right? You can give them away? Can you mail them? I have a cousin who I used to send lobster tails to and he'd send me chanterelles back. It was not a trade, he'd be generous and I'd be generous. Could you do that with abs?
the only thing that is legal by the book is "Gifting."
Just watch John Stossel's "illegal everything" which illistrates that the average American commits often more than 3 felonies a day.
~`~`~`~`in laws are BS!!!

good job kirby... I know diving sucks up there, I'll prob be salmon, trout, and steelhead fishing for most of my water hunting.
Although I do plan on surfing a bit up there too.

Nice videos Kirby!
I got into HSU and will be up there in August... Hopfully you will still be around to show me the ropes of humboldt diving!

the worst ever is when they gave a guy a citation for shooting squirls with a pellet gun in his front yard... the warden said they were out of season!!!
So does this mean mice and rats have seasons too!!!

20-50ft vis and this is what you get... lost a shaft to a big bass in the rocks, but some solid ones around... Daniel got a 5.8lb bass and I got a 4.2lb bug. Great late season bugging and early season hunting. Instead of checking a bunch of spots for wsb, we just chilled in a nice calm, clear cove and we took my lil bro out and I shot some bass (3-5lbs) with my old JBL blue lightning I found in my garage. We also got on some Rockfish too!

Cool. What was the water temp?
56 below, and felt 59-60 on surface to 5ft down... prob why the wsb I saw was in 8ft of water following some grunion... They like that 60* water.
-
No I dove today and saw my first wsb of the year... nice to pop this season's cherry early.
Now I need to tag one.

Looking for a dive buddy who has own kayak. I plan to launch around 5pm from cresent Bay and dive Crystal Cove. This will be a night dive, I don't care if you go for bugs or fish.
I know the rules of the MPAs, don't post on here just to cause arguments.

Damn... well what I missed out for in size, I made up for in amount.

just so you guys know before you over react, the law was made to make it illeagal to play with balls while nude... its because nudists find every loophole in the law to exploit.

its kind of ironic that Humboldt squid have magically showed up in the last decade as well... there natural range is from Baja down to Panama and also in the Sea of Cortez... However in the last few years mass populations have inhabited all the way Northern California.
Did they also look at the fact that it is a reccession... NO!
Did they look at the fact that more fisherman have been focusing on catch and release... NO!
Did they look at the fact that the WSB fishery has become very healthy in the last decade and pulled more fishing effort away from other fisheries... NO!
I ronically enough check out this link of a 2010 study on kelp bass!!!

Its too late for a day dive so I am wondering if anyone wants to do a kayak night dive. This means you have your own kayak and gear... you can go for bugs or fish I don't care.
Planning to paddle to and dive Crystal Cove and meet up by 6pm. Specific details upon request.
On another note, if anyone wants to give a big finger to the MLPA and launch from Cresent bay and paddle to South Crystal cove, ~2 mile paddle, I am willing to take you, but that paddle is only for the experienced and the knowledgable (regs wise).
