2 bugs for me and 6 for Daniel. Daniel used my backup light, UK40 LED, and still managed to destroy me!!! His biggest bug came was found resting at the surface holding on to a kelp!:laughing3:
At least I got 2 bugs as payment for my graciousness!:thumbsup2:

Well we sure did clean out the reef. The spot was Cresent Bay inside Seal Rock in the eel grass. So far between me and Daniel we have pulled 45 bugs from this spot. All that is left are the legals deep in the holes and shorts. I think this dive was wednesday: We dove for 4 hours in +20ft vis and zero swell. I managed 1 legal and daniel grabbed 5 deep in the holes and a cabezon. We have officially cleaned that reef bare.:thumbsup2:

it seems like the treehuggers are taking over. i'm really sorry this king of shit is happening . all i can say is we are human , treehuggers are not. humans hunt, fish etc.
I like to hug trees... with my butt cheeks once the trees are turned into TP.:thumbsup2:

Ironically, the environmental groups are putting pressure on the California Water Control Board to force Laguna Beach, among other cities, to clean up its water because of the MPA's biological significance. Some more info here:

Well I think there is quite a big corolation between why there is hardly any kelp or sea grass from Victoria beach down to Table Rock and Aliso Creek run-off and pollution. I also don't see many abalone in that area either. All the abs i see are from Moss to Cresent bay.

Well if they ban interference of the intertidal zone they better ban EVERYONE and not just consumptives. Surfers, SCUBA divers, kayakers and tidepool observers should be banned along with us.
However, the main cause of Death stated in the article is from disease caused by pollution, so why no have Laguna finally deal with their pollution problems.

Cabezon and Rockfish have been in a lot more lately around laguna. I think its because of the influx of squid in the area.

Where is this ban??? The salton sea?
or is this just an update of the MLPA?

Its best with larger tails because you can stuff them with more stuff and since the bacon cooks slow, the meat will cook about the same rate and you can really hold in a ton of Juices.
The top tail is from a 4lber.

Pulverized; WSB, Halibut, Greenling, Scallops. Cooked with green, yellow, purple onions, and red/green bell peppers. Mixed in Mayo, sesame/olive oil, salt, and Some red hot sauce. Chilled in frigerator.
Stuff lobster meat with fish mixture, rap in bacon and cook on BBQ!!! YUMMY!!!

Laguna Beach day diving for lobster. Got some good video of a lobster colony that I have been plundering at night lately as well as some video of some 2-4lb solitary bugs. Most bugs in video were shorts, but I did manage 1 that was about 3.75" CL. I did see some legals in the colony, but most have been taken hence, Daniel and I have taken ~40 from that spot alone as well as 2 other guys that got limits there. Not suprised that I saw 50-75 legals last time and maybe only 10 today.
Enjoy the video;

Date: 10/6/11 North Laguna
Time: 7-10pm
Temperature air/water: 65/62
Visibility: 3-5ft, hazy 8-10ft over solid reef.
Fish Seen: 2 cabezon both 3-5lbs!!! WHY of WHy did I not bring my knife with me!!!
Surge: HEAVY!!! cover the whole reef in one surge!!!:laughing3::crazy:
Swell: 2-4ft with 5-6ft sets.Me 7 healthy bugs to 3/4" over legal with 3 being tasty 2lb bugs. 12lbs of bugs total. Daniel Managed 5 as well and a very nice bug at 2.5-3lbs. I got most of my bugs in the surge in 2-6ft of water. Daniel worked the caves out deeper. So far Daniel and I comdined have taken 39 bugs from this spot and many more are still being seen!!! Although this spot does not kick out big bugs like Daniels main big bug spot it sure does kick out easy limits like nothing else!:thumbsup2: well... not exactly easy.:D
Don Paul; once it calms down its time I put you on some laguna bugs.
No hold out job this time around;

I've known about that for a while... kinda like when they say Patagonian toothfish is Seabass... which if you ask they'll at least admit to it being chilean seabass...
Although I don't agree with one of the fish that the video reported on... White tuna. There is no such thing as a white tuna and Escolar's nick name in the US is White tuna because it looks like a tuna and the white is often white... Duh!:D So I would have to say that white tuna is an exception to the mislabeling problem, since sellers are not stealing the name from another fish to sell at a higher price.
Fast food fish sandwiches are often swai or monkfish and not cod.
sablefish is labeled as pacific cod.
Pacific red snapper is often Rockfish.
imitation crab... well its an immitation of crab. lol.
Blue king crab can be cooked and labeled as red king crab.
