2013 article, but what say you guys on the cost.
Sounded like it was for one fish. Read with grain of salt.
What say you guys?

It's amazing they can be held up by tail for that type weight. Doesn't really make sense to me, but lots of pictures of them being held up like that.
-
Very Nice. Next step is cleaning them.

Thanks in Advance, A touch of info on spice and methods would be great too. I like to try different styles at times.
Hopefully your Mommas helped train you guys how to cook.

Glazing is a great idea.
Treebilly is that practical for other meats besides Fish. Moose, deer, elk, etc?

long term storage to prevent freezer burns, the way to go. lower cost option is that clear plastic food wrap then butcher paper.
The FoodSaver works off of rolls. you can make it long as you want. I have old model and width is around 12 inches. go look at what they sell, I could make a bag that is 10 foot long if I wanted 12 inch width.
ASIDE: Pretty sure you have to just use the Foodsaver bag material with them. This unit is what all of hunting buddies use.
Costco sells the bags and you can get a pretty good price on them.
Still don't understand why you want to freeze in large quantity. You planning on a big Party with all of SPEARDIVER folks over to eat?

SWB, Go lighter on weight if that is concern.
Make sure you with buddy, or in the end probably doesn't matter.
I have one dive buddy, he doesn't use a belt. with thick 5mm suit pretty hard. He's always pointed straight down and kicking. When he is ready to surface just stops the kick. When he hits surface, he's out of water to his belly button. Strange yep, but he does it.
Watch the surface condition of that pole, if it get rough/starting to splinter, You could have some damage to your hand. Inspect equipment well prior to diving.
Fixed tip poles are fine, just limits your option to convert to different tips. I don't make those except by request only. The boys in HI tend to like them for mounting to Carbon Fiber type poles.

I missed this thread from past, very cool thread.
You guys seen the Johnson SMG Mark II , Old 1970's gun uses 22 cal Blanks?
Had a diver request a couple parts for it to be made other day. I'll post pictures when Available, Not seen it before.

I"ve changed my weight balance based on lots of factors.
Good starting point:
For what you are doing and Starting Point, if you are on surface and FULL lungs you should float. If you breath all of the air out of your lungs, you should start to sink.
As you go down, the water pressure will compress your wetsuit and change your Volume. You will thus-ly be less buoyant.
Don't forget the Volume changes of YOU with depth, and refer to my Good friend Archimedes. He has a principle everyone should know.

I like to be neutral at the depth of the hunting zone. At times I liked being over weighted and other times on the other side of it.
Having your weight balance is very important. and everyone likes it differently.
I've just used Belts and not vests. Not that vests are bad, just what I learned and it works for me.
Got some Polespear/Tip testers in Santa Barbara, I can link you up with, if you like? Send me a PM

You need to butcher and cut and wrap. Get a Vacuum seal, Food saver is what I got.
I had some other brand long ago. (POS) That one got hit with a hammer and tossed.

Cost limit is cheap [emoji6]
I was thinking 22cf would be good? Asking advice.Just checking, your looking to keep them cold as whole fish? More detail to what you are thinking.
Not cut and wrap deal where overall size is not issue except volume for amount of fish you shoot..

Too Funny on that one Hank. . What Cost limit do you got there George. ?
Buddy bought a huge chest freezer , he had a couple moose and deer in there at one point. I pushed on him when he built his house to make a butcher room. He has a good sized room under the house with side entrance. Stays cool in there year round. Filled with Meat band saws grinders, large SS tables and that freezer.
He also bought a trailer that is basicly a meat locker on wheels. Nothing like going hunting with your freezer.

Sounds like you had fun, I love the big smile.
