    Great price!

One thing I hope you won't have problems with the line release reset. Mine gets stuck occasionally, not allowing you to insert a shaft. Sometimes it is easy to flip back with a knife, but sometimes I have to disassemble the whole line release mech to fix it, which is a pain in the ass... This is the main reason I don't use the gun on a regular basis anymore...

Rates are actually lower now because there is less demand from the US due to the economic down turn. From what I understand, there is very little work, besides lobster diving and drug smuggling. Seeing countless of paralyzed divers in the town. All the boat owners make a bunch of money, while blatantly disregarding regulations and diver safety. The boat owners were getting about $9/lb, and were talking about 5k plus lbs per trip. They would have about 60 -70 divers on the boat doing 5+ dives each per day past 120ft. Those boat owners have no conscious if you ask me.

    Hi Guys,

Just saw the documentary My Village, My lobster. It is about lobster divers in Nicaragua. I was aware that those guys had it rough, but jeez, this was pretty hard to watch...

It is available on iTunes, and I am sure a bunch of other places online. I'd highly recommend watching it.

Another issue is powering down. If im shooting schoolies 5 feet away id like to load 2 bands to save time. Normal rubbers give you a nice hole to see through whereas tie in bands go straight up. Can also remove a band in 20 seconds undoing the wishbone knot.

That is when you leave the big gun on the boat, and use a single band euro.... Just saying ;)

Funny you bring that design up as an example. I just designed a 140cm 3 band Euro style gun with a ferruled muzzle. The shape I made the gun didn't allow for a conventional band slot, so the ferrules allowed for a more extreme design... I'll post pics once the gun is done...

Well, how are they not to draw that conclusion when there is a spearfishing shaft sticking from a bird's head. They are talking about predatory fishing. We are predatory fisherman. How can you not draw a connection. This agency has done quite a bit of work for Sea Shepherds. This was definitely sanctioned by them... Ad agencies don't just do this stuff for shits and giggles, they were paid big bucks for this I can almost guarantee you that.

Thanks guys. Yeah, Hawaii is special, no doubt. Been twice before and did quite a bit of diving on Oahu. Love it...

    Aloha!

Curious to see if there are any Maui boys on the board. I'll be in Maui late May for a week, and hope to find some one local to take me for a dive. I'm not new to Hawaii diving, just Maui, so already now about the fish etc.

Hope to meet some of you in the future...

    Dive safe,

I hope so too! We'll need 200 hrs below 68˚F and 40 hrs between 30˚- 40˚F for them to fruit well. The way it is starting off, it is looking promising.

Not really, most survived good. I have a bunch of material you can use to propagate. Still wanna fo arts and crafts?

Judah, the storm messed up my sugarcane patch. Had to harvest it all. If you Want, I'll give you a few stalks this weekend.

    G

Awesome. You have plans on Sunday? Maybe a dive and then some arts and crafts?

Sounds good to me. Lets see how this storm will stir things up. If the winds/vis work out, we could hit up Haulover and then do some crafts afterwards... Anybody want to join, they are welcome.

Cool. I have zero skill with a spray can. Hahaha. All my vandalism was done in other ways.

    What colors did you use?
How did you determine the scheme? I only ask because I know you are a design guy.

I am going to paint my 120. Any reason not to tape the track and avoid any paint getting in?

Judah, I have a bunch of paint left over, if you want to give it a shot, feel free to swing by and help yourself to it. I have a few blues, few greens, few browns and some yellow and sand type colors, oh and silver, which adds a really cool reflective element to it all. As for the scheme? I just winged it. Tried it on some scrap first, was happy and did something similar on the real thing...

As for the track, I don't think it needs to be taped, it seems fine, but I guess I'll find out soon enough when I get into the water.
