i would do a few coats of clear on top
    phil

Phil, I added a few layers of clear coat to the wood gun as an extra seal/protection, but didn't really think it would that beneficial to add to the aluminum gun. The way it was painted, any area that needs touching up, can easily be touched up with a can of spray paint...

Belizeman, I used can of Rustoleum spray paint. there are only $3 and change a piece, and allow you to cover quite a large area...

Judah, I first put down a solid base, then add some accent areas, and then add the splatter effect to blend everything more by not fully depressing the nozzle, this lets the paint sort of sputter out. Messy but effective.

    Hi guys,

Managed to get some old guns I had painted for a fresh look this weekend. I had some leftover Rustoleum, and decided it would be a fun little project.

Gun 1, a 110cm OMER cayman. This one just got a green paint job.

Gun 2, a 120cm 8 year old beat to hell wood gun, blue paint. This gun I reshaped a bit, ballasted it better by adding lead to the front and gave it new paint. I know some of you will think it blasphemous to paint a wood gun as opposed to let the wood grain do the talking, but really I was tired of it, and it wasn't particularly special to look at anyway.

    Anyways, enjoy the pics.

Welcome aboard. I have many fond memories of Venezuela and its surrounding waters.

Just out of curiosity, are you stationed at the US embassy in Caracas?

    Dive safe,

I have an amazing leechee tree, didn't fruit this year though.

Same here, I was really looking forward to Lychees, but it never got cold for long enough this year.

As for my guava, it has been really finicky. It got damaged during a cold snap in it's first year, and since then no fruit yet, and very little growth in 2 years. Might pull it and replace with something else...

They are supposed to be easy and relatively maintenance free.

But that is only on the 399 edition, which is 2x the price of the entry level model... The touch screen LCD is just an additional option, also available for the 2...

That 4K shooting is great and all, but is absolutely worthless in 15fps. All you'll get is some choppy unwatchable footage, unless you are shooting a landscape with minimal movement... For diving/spearfishing, a totally useless feature.

See if I can't get some to take hold.

Good luck, I have NOT gotten them to grow mature and fruit. Snails get to them every time. Gonna try again though... One day you'll have a beautiful vine, next it is gone, all that is left is snail trails... ;(

Belizeman, nice Guava tree. Are they the green ones with the pink flesh, or yellow ones with the white flesh? Apple Bananas are the best. I have a plant in the yard as well Judah, I'll let you have a hand once it bears fruit...

Easy to follow a good diet here.

That is what I miss most about island life...

As for the selling of produce, it's just to much of a hassle, and I'm sure there are all sorts of legalities. I give away copious amount of fruit to my neighbors and in-laws. I get joy out of seeing others enjoy the fruits of my labor(no pun intended)... The veggies I never have a surplus of since they don't yield so much, and take up more ground space, but especially papayas, passion fruit and bananas I always have in abundance and get shared. My Mango trees are still young and have low yields so I can still consume them all, and the lychees and longans I can eat all day everyday, I can never have to much of them.

Fresh Sugar cane is a great pre and post dive snack to give your body a quick boost btw, ask Judah...

Tks Nate, it's amazing what you can get done with a TINY piece of land and a little love.

BTW, anybody local that wants some free bananas, hit me up. I've harvested a 100lbs in the last month, and am getting sick of them ;) Waiting for my finger bananas(dwarf namwa) to fruit just to taste something else...

It is good for the soul

    Thanks Judah, it sure is.

Nothing like working on your greens on a nice fall day. (summers are just to F'ing hot). My daughter expressed interest in growing water melons and broccoli (yes, a 3 year old who LOVES broccoli). So once this rain slows down a bit I'll start growing some real veggies again. I'm planning on green beans, broccoli, cauliflower and zucchini for this winter. I've tried the melons a few times but they ALWAYS get eaten... To many pests.

IDK G I think his horn is more organic

lol, he probably spent a lot more time on it...

Next time, he should cut out the fish before you alter it, and use something different than the smudge tool, it ruins the skin texture... Trust me Petrosk, I do this for a living...

This foto is my.Is not fotoshop.

You are full of shit. That is photoshop, and bad photoshop at that. It is an amberjack or almaco. Give me 5 minutes, and I'll show you one we caught last weekend, just like that, only bigger.
