Went out today to test some repairs I had done to my boat. Ran out of Bayfront. Seas were 1-2ft. The viz in the bay(only ran to Elliot Key and back) was pretty clear, could easily make out bottom while cruising along. Water temp was a nut shriveling 72*:@.

What could be wrong with the hull of such an old boat (24yrs)?

Take your pick...rotten transom, water logged foam, soft spots in the floor, corroded gas tank, corroded wiring. Best bet is to check it thoroughly.

I'd get it just for the BBQ:thumbup:

Someone will pick that boat up for sure. You shouldn't have any issues with that boat.

Pretty sweet deal if you can get him that low. Smaller hp four stroke Mercurys(115 and below) are made by Tohatsu(Nissan) and painted black.

The hulls that would fit into what Dan's needs(13,15,17,19ft) would be the Montauks and the smaller Dauntless'. The Mountaks are probably the worst riding hulls in anything more than 1ft chop. You'll be making a kidney belt and a mouth guard part of your boating safety kit.The smaller Dauntless' ride a little better than the Mountaks but not by much. Both hulls, along with Carolina Skiffs have very little dead rise, almost a flat bottom. So basically you're not cutting through the waves you're just slapping the tops of them.

    Did you read my post?

Negative on the Whalers. I work for Whaler dealer. I do ALL the PDIs.(predelivery inspection) I go through the boat making sure everything works the way it should. Part of the PDI is initial engine break in(3hrs) and sea trial(1hr).I don't get to plan when I go out on these. I need to get the boat on sales line as fast as possible, unless it's more than 4-6ft ,I'm going out.

We sell all models, Mountaks,Dauntless,Outrage, and Conquest. The hulls that would fit into what Dan's needs(13,15,17,19ft) would be the Montauks and the smaller Dauntless'.
