Pero no es que eran una maravilla las escopetas criollas? Ahí me perdí...

That's the knife.
Dan: Try it, then we talk. Is not a "normal" serrated knife; it cuts everything like butter.
-
The best knife I've ever had is the Dexter Russel "Tiger Edge". It cuts EVERYTHING, from shark (or trigger fish) skin to snapper bones. And doesn't need to be sharpened, never!
If you have the chance to get one, go for it.
It's not the nicest fillet knife but it does it's job pretty good. -
Quién es esa belleza?!

Nice fish Julio! :thumbsup2:

Nice catch!

Definately not a good mix. I look at spearfishing as a way of hanging out with buddies and having a good time on the water.
I agree. But I consider it a sport as well. You have to be in shape do feel good in the water. At least if you still want to do things you are used to.
I see competitiveness mostly in young spearos (and I felt that when I was younger). When you get older your brain is less filled with testosterone...
I participated at the Nationals in Venezuela back in 2003 and will not do it again. Even if the ambient was ok and I had the chance to spear at different locations, I was forced to shoot fish that I normally don't even look at.
Minimum size was 500 grs (less than 1 puond) for many species (other were bigger, like snappers, goupers and other). species that I normally disregard were allowed to take, etc.
At the end, I went well to me, but I didn't felt good killing fishes that won't be consumed by me afterwards. It changed the whole philosophy of spearfishing in my perception. Won't do it again.

No, they're different. It should work....
-
Yeah, I've never seen one "alive", but the purpose was to equalize the vacuum in the mask since they didn't had the shape to pinch your nose.
-
Well, as far as I know, he wanted to put a line release like the ones the Cressi's pneumatic have. Anyway, the simplest the better.
-
Well, there were 3 boricuas and one venezuelan shooting the movie.... We almost sunk that day!
It was a Silky shark and yes, was great to eat.

Just wanted to share with you my vids....

When you are descending all you have in your lungs is (almost) fresh air. Just try it in your next dive

Usually 3 or 4 days a week, sometimes more, sometimes less.
You lucky bastard! :angry5::);)

Thanks Rolo.
That's for the carbon, but what about the alluminum? Anyway, I asked the price and is WAY higher than the RA.
Any place that sells them at "reasonable" prices? All I need is a 120 cm alluminum railgun double 16 mm band, 7 mm shaft.
I think I will buy a Rob Allen again soon...
-
Thanks for the info about the Aimrite, as a matter of fact I do have one... :rolleyes1:
Did anyone had the chance to read my question?
As far as I know the rail iin the Rabby's is not part of the alluminum barrel, right?
Anyone that has or have had both, please comment a little bit.
Thanks,
Who was the one here that said "thanks for ignoring me"? :rolleyes1:

I would like to get into this discussion....
I have to recognize that I pretty much don't do the buddy up thing, BUT, when I know that I'm going to dive deeper than normal or if I know i will stay at the bottom more than usual, then I expressely ask someone (of a similar level) to wach my ass, and this happens only when the visibility allows him to wach me all the time.
There are too many distractions in the sea to rely you life totally in a buddy. I/e: a wahoo shows up at shooting range when you are in the bottom. What do you think your "buddy" is going to do? I'm not sure... :rolleyes1: But for sure is going to distract "a little bit".
At my age, I don't rely totally in anyone unless at specific cases and situations. I think we should dive responsibly at the depts/times we are comfortable with. That's why imo a dive computer is a must for a serious freediver.
This being said, I'm happy that Jim is ok and for sure he's got a good lesson from this situation. ;):thumbsup2:

Macks and Muttons are the first fish to appear when you chum. Usually they get in range withing few seconds, but sometimes it is worth to return to the chummed spot after 15 minutes or so.
