This knife is what you need to put the smackdown on a 100 lb A.J.

Very nice Tinu. Clearwater and lots of fish usally don't go together, but when it does you can get some great video.
Thanks for sharing,G.R.

For most repairs I first Superglue the spot together and then cover the area with Aquaseal on the outside and inside.

The coil line is definitley 80's technology. I mainly use it as a free shft gun. It only gets out about once a year just to show that it still can get the job done. I posted a thread on here a while back with details about this gun. A fun write for me and a fun read for you.

This is the best Brand of Speargun. It has been in use for over 35 years and still take big fish.

55 mid handle or 120 euro are my favorite reef guns. For blue water I really like a 150 euro. I have 35 other guns that I own and like too, but these are my favorites.

I just bought two of these belts. They are excellent and a great price. Thanks Dan!!!

:laughing3:
I've actually heard you had a lot of spearguns too from some mutual friends. Unfortunately it's always in the context "... do you know who else is crazy?...".
:cool2:
Hi my name is G.R. ..... Did I tell you about the rest of my dive gear? Floats, Float Lines, Bungies, Wetsuits (OMG), knives, snorkels, gloves (OMG),Slip tips, shafts, bands, Fins, and of course the ex-wife:laughing3:
How many meetings do I have to come to before I start to show signs of improvement?:laughing3:
Excessive compulsive is for pussies!! -
O.K. Mr. Amelda Marcos of spearguns. When I get time I will post my collection (or whats left of it) We have a similar fetish for spearguns. Yours lean towards rear handles mine towards mid handles. I have given away more guns than most people will ever own. Unlike many speros I can and do shoot mid handle, rear handle, euro, wood, free shaft and line shaft guns depending on where I am diving and who I am diving with. Yes, I too am a certified gun whore.
Hi, my name is G.R, and I have a gun problem:laughing3: -
Cressi fins are excellent!! They have a very comfortable foot pocket and they are very durable. I used them exclusivley until about two years ago when I got a pair of DiveRs that I won in a tournament. I love the DiveRs, but sometimes I still wear the old Cressi 3000s. I have dove to 137 with the Cressis with no problem, and for around $100 you can't go wrong.
There are basically two types of fins on the market today. Spearfishing fins and freediving fins. Spearfishing fins are very durable and last a long time. Freediving fins are for limited use and tend not to last. Just my opinion -
Rick Bettua at Aimrite doubble plugs my guns and uses 5200. I have flooded many barrels when diving deep on both my Wong and Aimrite guns. I think Aquaseal would also be a good way to go for the deep stuff.
Cheers,
G.R.

I say go custom with diveskin.net . You don't have to try it on to see if it fits because it was made for you. You can pick any color and style you want and best part is it costs as much or cheaper than most normal suits. In South Florida a 3mm wetsuit is enough but skinny guys might need 5mm.
Ditto... A custom suit is the only way to go, unless you are shaped like the person that the wetsuit makers use to fashion there suits.

Solid black camo works good for me

The Omer Tournament has not been held for a couple of years. The only other Bluewater Tournament is the World Cup Meet held in La Paz Mexico in June. You can find info on it at 20fathoms.com

I love to see you guys thinking about these factors.I have a very close friend (John Warren) who worked with Bucky Fuller. John and I designed and tested in pools for 25 years. Another great speargun mind is a friend known as Popgun Pete. I have major issues with typing so please don't ban me if I don't contribuite
allot of data. All my reports were hand written back in the old days. I would like to stimulate your young
creative minds, this is what your new blood can do for our sport.
The most important thing I can tell you is buy or build a gun that shoots well, then keep shooting it until
it is a part of you and your mind. Aim to kill fish or brake the spine, shoot it well and you will develop confidence to make kill shots. With enough water time you may never try to sight down your gun barrel agian. You will see the fish's form. extend your gun and pull the trigger as the shaft later finds is mark.
Invest in your staking skills and safe bottom time as much as in your gun technology. work to get closer rather than add more power and range.
I will be happy to try to share a little of what I have learned about guns a little at a time.
All the best, Don
Don,
You and I have come to the same conclusions and we have never met or dove together. I say " Learn to hunt and the shooting is easy." Shooting a speargun is like shooting a shotgun - Point and shoot, don't aim and shoot. The only fish I have ever hunted that needs more than two bands is a big tuna and that is because you need more power to shoot through the fish. 30 foot shots are for dreamers and should never be taken.
Cheers,
G.R. -
I thought I would start a thread about funny things that happened in 2009. Post your funniest stories here.
These pics were taken from a trip this past year with Sasa and Chris out of Saint Petersburg. We anchored up on the spot and were all putting our wetsuits on (Rushing to put our wetsuits on) when I noticed a 70 lb cobia on the surface 2 feet from the boat. I grabbed my gun and loaded one band with my wetsuit half on and made a perfect shot on this beast.:thumbsup2: Who needs to get in that cold water and hold their breath?
Chris and Sasa were pissed at me (Hahahah) for beating them to the punch:laughing3: Anyway the day turned out great and we had a lot of fun. -
Omer Alien here. Clear glass with black frame.

Good stuff. I really like to shoot a variety of quality fish.:thumbsup2:

9-10:D
Seriously, I load on my belly button and just above my belly button. Alot of times I put the gun butt on my weightbelt to load. How about a long skinny loading pad from #1 to the top of the pubic region?
