Hi my name is G.R. ..... Did I tell you about the rest of my dive gear? Floats, Float Lines, Bungies, Wetsuits (OMG), knives, snorkels, gloves (OMG),Slip tips, shafts, bands, Fins, and of course the ex-wife:laughing3:
How many meetings do I have to come to before I start to show signs of improvement?:laughing3:
    Excessive compulsive is for pussies!!

O.K. Mr. Amelda Marcos of spearguns. When I get time I will post my collection (or whats left of it) We have a similar fetish for spearguns. Yours lean towards rear handles mine towards mid handles. I have given away more guns than most people will ever own. Unlike many speros I can and do shoot mid handle, rear handle, euro, wood, free shaft and line shaft guns depending on where I am diving and who I am diving with. Yes, I too am a certified gun whore.
Hi, my name is G.R, and I have a gun problem:laughing3:

Cressi fins are excellent!! They have a very comfortable foot pocket and they are very durable. I used them exclusivley until about two years ago when I got a pair of DiveRs that I won in a tournament. I love the DiveRs, but sometimes I still wear the old Cressi 3000s. I have dove to 137 with the Cressis with no problem, and for around $100 you can't go wrong.
There are basically two types of fins on the market today. Spearfishing fins and freediving fins. Spearfishing fins are very durable and last a long time. Freediving fins are for limited use and tend not to last. Just my opinion:toast:

Rick Bettua at Aimrite doubble plugs my guns and uses 5200. I have flooded many barrels when diving deep on both my Wong and Aimrite guns. I think Aquaseal would also be a good way to go for the deep stuff.

    Cheers,

    G.R.

I say go custom with diveskin.net . You don't have to try it on to see if it fits because it was made for you. You can pick any color and style you want and best part is it costs as much or cheaper than most normal suits. In South Florida a 3mm wetsuit is enough but skinny guys might need 5mm.

Ditto... A custom suit is the only way to go, unless you are shaped like the person that the wetsuit makers use to fashion there suits.

The Omer Tournament has not been held for a couple of years. The only other Bluewater Tournament is the World Cup Meet held in La Paz Mexico in June. You can find info on it at 20fathoms.com

    Don,
You and I have come to the same conclusions and we have never met or dove together. I say " Learn to hunt and the shooting is easy.":toast: Shooting a speargun is like shooting a shotgun - Point and shoot, don't aim and shoot. The only fish I have ever hunted that needs more than two bands is a big tuna and that is because you need more power to shoot through the fish. 30 foot shots are for dreamers and should never be taken.
    Cheers,
    G.R.

I thought I would start a thread about funny things that happened in 2009. Post your funniest stories here.

These pics were taken from a trip this past year with Sasa and Chris out of Saint Petersburg. We anchored up on the spot and were all putting our wetsuits on (Rushing to put our wetsuits on) when I noticed a 70 lb cobia on the surface 2 feet from the boat. I grabbed my gun and loaded one band with my wetsuit half on and made a perfect shot on this beast.:thumbsup2: Who needs to get in that cold water and hold their breath?
Chris and Sasa were pissed at me (Hahahah) for beating them to the punch:laughing3: Anyway the day turned out great and we had a lot of fun.
