Here is my submission for the Spiny Lobster & Hog Fish category, I also was going to submit the trigger, but roberto beat me by a pound or so:
Hogfish 15 4oz
Lobster 14 9oz
Trigger +/- 15
That lobster is unbeatable. I have never even seen one that big. Check out this Hog at 19.6lbs...I got a 10 lb lobster on the same breath -
I had one scare me once... I ate him!!:D

hahaha, i see you had to grab a little bite of marlin sashimi on the way up
That patch by the tail is actually a bunch of strange looking parasites. They look like tiny tulip shells.

Nice fish! Aside from the wetsuit and fins was there any other gear you were using? I love the wetsuit and have not yet had a chance to use my fins due to the spill. Might have to go swimming in the creek with them just to see how they feel:rolleyes1:
There is a Speardiver "Red Tide Knife" and Speardiver weightbelt hiding behind the fish too:thumbsup2: -
Got to test out some Speardiver gear this past week in La Paz. It was O.K

I love my Jordan Hamilton Tuna Gun. 6 bands with a 3/8 shaft and perfectly balanced and balasted. The quality and finish on this gun are top notch. The only downside is they are not cheap. It is my go to big tuna gun.
For shooting the rest of the bluewater fish you can use a 4 band gun that shoots a 5/16 shaft or go with a 150 Euro gun with 2 or 3 bands. I will be shooting my 63 Wong Hybrid Supper Magnum and my 150 Aimrite King Venom in La Paz next week for the World Cup Meet. Wahoo, Billfish and Dolphin will be the main targets. These guns work well in that environment.
Whatever you get just learn to shoot it well. Practice makes perfect -
G.R. I can't remember if it's been mentioned in this thread already, if you haven't yet solved the problem of the bands tangling with your shooting line, try shortening your wishbones.
I will try that.
