Guaguanche (cuda family) - not big enough to move my scale, but he was a solid 3 ounces. Check out the shot, perfect stone shot on a fish only slightly wider than the shaft.

    (Goku added for scale.) <img src= " height="23" srcset="https://spearfishing.world/forum/images/smilies/emojione/1f606@2x.png 2x">

I have you beat Matt. I actually weighed one in at the Saint Pete Open this year. He was .0000001 bigger than yours^^ I will find a picture and post it so there will be no disputing my much larger entry. My shot placement was definitely better too <img src= " class="smiley" srcset="https://spearfishing.world/forum/images/smilies/emojione/1f606@2x.png 2x" height="23" width="23" loading="eager" data-tooltip="biggrin" aria-label="biggrin">

Awesome video!! Those guys have it down. I like the pendulum method they are using with the float release. I need to learn that one. I have always used the back of the boat. Their method looks much less stressfull. Getting a grouper out of a cave at that depth is amazing. Y el cordero es muy importante parte de este equation.:toast:

I love it!! Back to basics with a straight shooting all purpose gun that will take down anything in Florida waters. I need to get comfortable with the Heinrich relase gimmick. It just looks like a pain in the ass (I know it is not). I can tell you have a little" Old School" in your blood by the extended gun butt. All of my old guns were made that way because they were easier to load. I really like your line anchor too. Good job:thumbup:

Ha ha ha! You're killin me with this 29fs and 80lb cubera bullsheet!!!

Now the semi-public spot we hit sunday 55 miles out shows some serious potential. Too bad we only got 15min in the water before the wrath of God was unleashed (aka summertime in FL) :)

Look in the background of that pic. We were surrounded by storms. Now look at the color of the water and the color of the fish. 8 miles out of Anclote for the non believers. Pure luck at it's finest:toast:

Congratulations. How deep? Did you get him w/a single shot?

I was snorkeling in 29 feet of water. The shot was well placed downward through the shoulders and out of the stomach.
I was was at least 60 feet away when I pulled the trigger. Those carbon fiber guns are really accurate. I think the red color makes them shoot further. My new gloves had a lot to do with the great success of the dive as well. Now if I could just get a propper fitting speedo I could really shoot some nice fish.^^^^:toast:

Was it a stone shot or a big fight?

Big fight all the way.... Plus I had 2 sharks bum rush me which required bicycle kicks from my Pursuit Carbon Fins to keep them away. The funny part is that I did not even bend my little 9/32 shaft. Now that is pure luck!!:toast:

I have missed Chumfeast two years in a row now. It is a blast to go hang out with guys from all over the State for a weekend of good diving and great stories. I just want to know one thing... Was the Margarita machine in action this year?^^^^

This is a pic of my first place Cubera in this years Saint Pete Open. It weighed 79.9 lbs after being gutted. Check out the weather in the background. We dodged heavy seas, lightning, and tons of pesky sharks all day. This years tournament had 295 participants from as far away as Hawaii. It was really fun to humble all of the bubble packers. I guess my new less gay speedo attracts big fish. Hahahaha!!^^

How about a seperate "show us your polespear thread"? Different types of rigging and design improvements from the basic polespear. I would like to know more about rigging one with a float. Band configurations, slip tips, different legnths, fiberglass, aluminum, carbon, ect.

All wooden guns and pipe guns should shoot straight and kill fish. There isn't any reason why they wouldn't? Unless they are overpowered and they are using the wrong size shaft.

The only difference will be how well the gun is balanced, tracks through the water, power, recoil, and the extras[/QUOTE]

    I totally agree.:toast:
