What is the largest diameter spectra that will fit through the holes? I've got 100' of 3mm spectra that I've been using for my wishbones. Will I be able to use it with your inserts?

I don't have a planer, but I ran it through a table saw and that cleaned it right up. I also got the remote trigger installed and started on the handle grips

Took off the masking tape this morning and sanded off the air bubbles. I getting the masking tape off was a major PITA so I wont be using it again. Also I left the trigger mech in the pocket so that the track could form around the curved front of the neptonics tuna trigger, that was a mistake. I kinda made a mess of the top of the gun when I was trying to remove the air bubbles, but I think that I can fix that by removing the top 1/16th of the gun and track with a table saw. Thanks for all the kind words, unfortunately I won't be able to work on the gun till march as I have to go back to RI to continue my education.

I was trying to overfill the groove that i cut for the track so that I could remove the air bubbles by sanding then off tomorrow. I ended up sloping epoxy onto the masking tape. I probably didn't add enough graphite powder when I was mixing the epoxy which is giving the appearance of clear epoxy.

Thanks! The blue stuff is just masking tape so that i don't have to sand the spilled over epoxy off to the wood. The gun is going to have four 9/16th bands for a while until I get comfortable with it then I will probably re-rig it with 5/8th bands. It'll be mostly for wahoo and maybe the occasional tuna.

This is my first gun build. It's a 63" midhandle bluewater gun. I cut the trigger and handle pockets and poured the epoxy track today, I'll take more pictures tomorrow when the epoxy dries.

you're probably right, I don't really want to have to buy two different types of rubber, maybe if i left them really long?

I was wondering what is the typical band load was on a Hawaiian sling. I'm planing on building a sling for bluewater hunting in the bahamas and am planning on using 9/16 bands for about 90 pounds of pull.

Have you had any issues with bent shafts with this setup?

they're all over the Bahamas, i kill them for shark bait.
