It´s a cabrilla piedrera, no doubt about it. The meat of that fish is delicious. Take the fillets and dip it with some mustard, mayo and a bit of pepper, then put them in a foil with pimentón slices, onion and a thick layer of yelow chesse and some ham and bacon, fold it thight and put it on the grill one sided until done...

    Enjoy

1000 pesos is big money here for a shaft also.

These are probably easier to make since you already have the screw-in bands.

That´s a thought. I figure it that it could be made out of the same threaded stuff of the original steel articulated wishbone. (that in fact looks dangerous as hell)

The handle is just like the stealth. Not sure on how those trigger mechs are. The Rabitechs can withhold alot of pressure. I use a 7mm shaft and a single 20mm band (very short), plenty of power out to the length of single wrap. If you are shopping for shafts, I would contact Eric at Sumora. He had a really good deal on some shafts. I used them on some large big fish since putting them on and shaft has not bent yet.

Rolo, i was wondering if it´s identical from the inside out. I have read somewhere that the viper has a stainless steel release , if it´s so, then it can withstand the pressure of the larger shaft. My only concern is about safety if the sear is going to wear out and i get sometime a misfire. Anyway, I will try the larger shaft.

    Thank you mano

About shafts, we take care of them as if they were made out of gold. In méxico almost 1000 pesos for a shaft is big money. So we have to get skill to go for the stone shots hehehe

You mean would it be OK for the articulated steel wishbone? It probably would but I'd get rid of the quitadedos if I were you. Just ask Pantoja. There's a nice modification you can make with inserts and dyneema. Let me know if you don't know what I'm talking about. This will be perfect for mini tabs. I'll say it again RA shafts are nothing special, the only thing they got going is they're cheap, but they rust eventually. See my thread on experimenting with an RA shaft and that was a 7.5mm, you get what you pay for. Why don't you get a group of guys together and source out a manufacturer in Mexico?

That mod, would be terrific, but i am not familiar with the procedure. Care to elaborate please?

I don't know what you mean? We do leg locks all the time we just know when to tap. I train with ATT and so far all the guys have been very considerate just as I am. Nobody is out to hurt anyone. If I start to work with someone that appears too aggressive I tell them before we start that if they get a leg lock I'll tap right away and to watch out for it. I don't f*ck around trying to escape from leg locks as I've been hurt badly before. The best escape anyways is to not be caught with them in the first place.

I love boxing too but just don't have time for it.

    i have osteocondritis in my left ankle due to continous strikes in the area :crazy: that´s why i´m shy to mix it up in MMA. I´m saving my ankles for freediving :;

I like the Riffes too. The lever safety of the guns is a hassle tough, how do you get rid of it?

You are right, i bent the shaft slightly even though the snappers i got were both stoneshots and both less than 10 pounds, those were shot as "speargun test" so, i can imagine what a larger pargo would do to the 6.5 shaft. La hace moño :D

The shaft that comes standard with the gun is a 6.5 mm, is nice but is no match for the local protein. I want to upgrade it to a 7 mm. Do you think the gun will stand the upgrade or should i stay with the standard set up?

It's always like that when you're dealing with a specialized market. I think we all make the mistake in the beginning of buying the overpriced stuff. Then again some people don't care and like the convenience of buying everything in one place. Others yet enjoy the brand names, that is beyond me. I'm at the point where the more unrelated to diving the perfect piece of gear is the bigger kick I get out of using it.

If you want to try a pair of these gloves I'll get a pair for you and send them with the spearpoint.

Absolutely Dan, i would love that, i was shy to ask :):

I wonder why the diving gear manufacturers charge 30 bucks for a similar glove, amara palms and stuff. I was looking for the riffes, but they are a bit expensive though. I want a real tough glove right now, specially after the spine accident

Looks like a Fairbanks/Sykes dagger. Used by gallant british pilots to open the livin´guts out the damn nazi, during the "D " day invasion, back in the good old days :fencing:
