Am I missing something? The Coronados? I googled it and it was in Afghanastan right?
Very likely based out of the West Coast HQ for Seals...Coronado.

Oh wow....what a tragedy.
I've been around ,buddy.
Too cool, Tono ! Way too cool. Thanks for sharing.
I can overnight you some packed in dry ice...
Really ? Want something in trade ? Very thoughtful and generous of ya.
Damn that sounds good...
Welcome,bro. Alotta good,good people here.
Guys, I appreciate it and all....and please understand this isn't a sour grapes thing or a 'poor me' thread. Certainly a realization that crawling thru muck and hunting by feel are not my brands of fun. Which I think any outdoor pursuit should be first and foremost fun. So it's a self-realization I had Sunday when once again I was out trying to shoot fish in deplorable conditions and thought "This kinda sucks." Problem is, that was pretty much a normal day.:frustrated1: So...is what it is.
Just thought I'd share it with my friends.
They are that quick to suspend people of SB?
I love the spearing community, goood people..... I just have to accept that I won't be one of them . SB has nothing to do with it, bro.
Aaron, fly fishing it's a art onto it self as you know. I have plenty of gear for you to use if you get out my way.
Just don't PM me on SB as I wear the wrong brand of gear, and my account there is suspended without notice. I can see no images and no one can PM me there.
Please hang around here I like you too squid.:D
Cheers, Don
Don, the art is what keeps me coming back. I can't draw or carve, but I'll be damned if I can't weave and imagine. And the finesse and timing of making a cast ....I cast in the yard to relax and unwind.
Don, the tie that binds is that I am passionate. I have my dogs that without them hunting would be nothing, and without a long rod a river would seem empty. And without friends a fire would seem cold.
Welcome to fire anytime.
Aaron
Gentlemen,
I am an all or nothing guy. Plain and simple. For the past years ,I have tried like hell to be a spearfisherman and I just can't . Not for lack of desire or ability, but for access. Oklahoma is a bitch of a place to dive period. Try to add spearing into the mix and it's quite the challenge between the archaic laws and unpredictable weather patterns and water clarity....well, shit on it. I give up. I was counting on a tour to GTMo to fire me up for the blue waters, it also fell thru. I see the Gods hands working and I fold.
I have to confess that I'm not being beaten completely. Ever since I was little I've been a fly fisherman. From the age of 8 or so; I was dead sticking, czeck nymphing, and swinging streamers for everything. That's where my heart lies. It's so much like hunting I don't know where to draw the line.I also have contacts there that are starting to draw me into places I didn't see a beloved past time going. I gotta chase it, hermanos.I'm sending my gun off to well deserving guy...and ordered some new leader kits for my warm water fish. It's just evolution ,fellas.
Not going anywhere cause I like you guys,
Aaron
Yeah, Aaron, this will be number 2. The first one was to Iraq a couple of years ago. I get to play fobbit this time though. Should be nice and quiet.
Good, good news...as far as deploying is concerned.
i think it would be a great platform as long as you keep sharp things covered, like on a RIB...it has the nice bonus of being so light that it would be towable like a dive float if you chose to swim it out or in.
That's exactly what I was think,too.
You're in Cuba? There should be much to tell.
Not yet, buddy. Start my pre-mob work up July 1st , have some training to go thru, and should be in country by Aug. 11th. Most of my gear is already down there waiting on me.
Damn !!!
Judah, they also have one that is completely frameless and folds into a wheeled piece of luggage. I believe it weighs 38 lbs. total.
Ya think they'd be alright , though ?
Monk, isn't this your 2nd or 3rd deployment ? Thought I remembered reading that...anyway, be safe.
They use sea lions sometimes ,too. Had some guys that were in a MIUW unit( Mobile inshore undersea warfare ) that went out to Ca. to see it done.
The Dude abides....welcome.
Does it come with harnesses for the dogs to pull?
Welcome back Aaron.
Ha ! Well I do see 'D' rings attached to the front of the pontoons, so it might be an idea.:) I think having it shipped to Cuba would be a bit cost and storage prohibitive. So might just pick it up when I get home.
And thanks, Dan.
