...I'm very impressed but not surprised with the quality ...the build quality is far better then any custom suit I have ever owned.
    Cheers, Don

I would have to definitely agree...after getting out in the suit many times this summer, the suit still looks and feels like brand new. I am so impressed by the quality and craftsmanship. Regardless of water conditions, I am always comfortable in this suit. Thanks again Dan for going above and beyond to ensure you are providing your customers with the best possible product on the market.

Nah..they are not that great to eat. The are really oily/greasy and have a ton of bones. They might be okay pickled or something, but I wouldn't eat them unless I had too. IMO the best tasting freshwater fish you can eat is Walleye. Pure white fillet and easy to remove the bones. I hope to have some pics up for you guys soon...I have only been out once so far this season and it was more of a scouting trip.

Ya its pretty far up north, looking to do a 1-3 day trip into sask to spearfish the meadow lake area....Where exactly do you live in sask?

Meadow Lake are is a nice place to dive...I live in Saskatoon. Let me know when you are heading out that way and I will see if it works with my schedule. There is a group of us in S'toon that freedive. We usually head out to Diefenbaker Lake. It is a big body of water....over 100 miles long about 300ft at its deepest point. PM me if you like...I am by no means an expert, but I might be able to help you out in a pinch.

    Later,

Hi guys I'm from Cold Lake, Alberta and am just waiting for the rains to stop so i can go out without completely freezing. Cold Lake has a deepest point of almost 400'. Mostly I like to go to small lakes that are like 20' deep. I enjoy shooting pike, walleye, perch, and burbot.

    Hey Abid,

Good to have you onboard. Welcome to the forum. There is a great wealth of knowledge on this board. Do you ever fish/spear outside of AB? Cold Lake is super far north...do you work for the military?

I was just wondering if there is a preferred method to sharpening your speartips? I have noticed that my speartip isn't as sharp as it used to be....I was going to turn it a few times on a table grinder, but didn't know if that would damage it or perhaps alter its path through the water if it became uneven from sharpening...thoughts??

I have used Windows Live Movie Maker http://download.live.com/moviemaker and it works quite well. Plus the price is right ~ free from Microsoft. I use it on my Windows 7 PC running 4GB RAM and it runs quick. Here is a list of requirements for it.

As long as you have a genuine copy of either XP SP2 or newer you can download this product through Microsoft Live Essentials. Check it out...it might be the right one for you.

    Hi Rambo,

Welcome....great bunch here. I know we will benefit from your wisdom regarding camera mods. I just had a look at your video of the "improved" underwater GoPro. Video looks really good.

    Thanks for posting.

The second option does sound really good, but at the same time we don't want to put you out. It may turn out to be too difficult to do. Is polycarbonate brittle to work with? Would you make the new ring out of nylon or some other type of material? If you accidentally cross-threaded option 2 you could end up with problems potentially, like water inside the housing. If you feel confident in option 1, I believe you should explore that first. I'm sure all of us would be happy with either one.

Thanks again for looking into this....

    Nice work team!! :D

Of course TinMan...once your prototype is a huge success...which it will be...you will offer it to the members of this forum first before selling your idea to GoPro and retiring somewhere in the tropics....well somewhere more tropic than Louisiana, right? :)

I hadn't been following this one. But I'll gladly help any way I can.

The only thing I really know about machining clear stuff is that it won't be clear anymore where you cut it. The tool will leave tiny scratches that make it look frosted. Maybe it can be polised back to clear, but I've never tried.

I haven't been on this forum very long Tin Man , but from what I have seen, you do amazing work!! :hail1:

If you think you can construct something for the GoPro Camera's, I will gladly wait rather than epoxying something to my GoPro housing. I would even volunteer my underwater housing for you to work on, but it may take a while to get it to you.

Hmmm...that is disappointing. I was hoping for a better fix than this...although I should have expected as much. Well back to the drawing board. Hopefully greekdiver will have good results with his test project. :)

Anyone know where you can buy a cheap or used Fuji underwater housing?
