LB I work every saturday. Im off every thursday, and alternate being off either friday or sunday. This week Im off thursday sunday. next week thursday friday and so on.

they're great over at dixie divers.. talk to joel there, i'm sure you met him if you went out on thursday. i've bought a few of my guns from them. i have the ab biller 48, great gun, will probably last me forever. just make sure to clean it well when you're done. my boyfriend also has an ab biller, a 42, which he brings out in the reef when he's not using his riffe. i believe they're dredging a beach around there so the viz hasn't been too great around but summer is approaching and it will be flat gorgeous beach days everyday:) (with hopes that they finish this dredging ASAP). also, grouper season opens april 1st.. hopefully they'll halt the operations for the season opener;) you're sticking to beach dives? that's what my boyfriend and i do around here in south fla.. just kayaks and paddle boards.. also try out the intercoastal, it's not always as clear but there's some good eating there too:) dive safe ! let us know how it goes.

I started with a bunch of gear my grandpa gave me back in high school including a set of tusa booties and open heel fins that he said were from the late 80's or early 90's(I started using them around 2005) They were old and brittle and didn't fit me well but they got me started and in the water. Unfortunately after about 10 trips one broke completely off just ahead of the footpocket, swimming back to the beach was a bitch. so I went and bought some cheap us divers crap at sports authority:

also pictured is a Wenoka knife my grandpa contributed to my starter pack.

These lasted for 3-4 years of occasional (at best) diving, that was until I joined this forum last year and met Dan. I immediately started shopping around and looked at the mares quattro power and the cressi 2000's but decided that it would be cheaper to go all out in the beginning and save the expense of slow progression. So after some saving I wound up biting the bullet and getting these:

Pursuit C90's and H Dessault footpockets, hands down bar none a GIGANTIC improvement over any of my old gear. Thanks again Dan.

And the old side by side for comparison:

wind kicked up around 4-430, hopefully it lays down for you guys. water was green but viz was top to bottom everywhere we went. macs were thick around the second reef.

went out from 230-630 today, seas started out at maybe a foot but after an hour or 2 the wind really kicked up from the southeast and made a nasty 2+ chop. viz was 35' on the second reef and 20-25 on the first reef. Lots of macs near the second reef. ended with 2 bugs and a hog - got enough mac in the freezer for a while. Also noticed more and more groupers around the 2nd reef, hopefully the legal ones stick around when season opens up. I hope the conditions are better for anyone going out tomorrow, and if not then hangin out at the bar til midnight is a good backup plan.

Sorry the viz wasn't better but glad its helping you out, I have more of them if your travels take you further north or south. I'm guessing your inputing coordinates into a gps unit? mine is at the manufacturer getting repaired but as soon as I get it back I plan to load all kinds of points in there.
