Judah, broward is a good place lots of stuff to do down near the beach and of course las olas and downtown ft lauderdale lots of shorediving potential plus miami/dade and palm beach are just a short drive.

Got the dovetail cut today and slid the neptonics ET in and it fits like a glove. I can see where a router table comes in handy when doing this step.

ouch the third and fifth look nasty

Glad they got caught, but the penalty seems too light to me.

I don't know how often they do it but I know that Publix regularly offers $50 gas cards for $40 when you buy $25 in groceries. When I am just buying a couple things I typically pick one up to help refuel my boat or truck, but if I have a long grocery list I split it up into 2 purchases so that I can get 2 gas cards. The gas at the station is also at a slightly discounted rate when you use a gas card. I know this helps me out a bit seeing as how much gas/food are. Just thought I'd pass it on.

Beautiful builds! I'm guessing you cut multiple "band slots" to give them maneuverability side to side? Do those guns still float without the shaft? Have you ever had any structural issues with any of those due to the lack of material?
I noticed on some of them you have a handle/trigger guard but the trigger is mounted all the way at the butt and completely exposed. How is it fired? Do you have a safety on them?

Excellent explanation Dan. I too never understood the naming but thought of it like the interior foam cells are open to the skin whereas the outside is enclosed in lycra for protection.

Thank you. I just ordered the router bit to cut the dovetail to install the neptonics enclosed track. I went that route rather than trying to cut and pour epoxy. I might be overdoing this whole thing but the current plan is to cut all of the holes/grooves/pockets/etc in the wood a little oversized. Seal the entire thing up with epoxy and then re-cut all of the holes/grooves/pockets/etc the correct size and install the components. That should ensure that all of the wood is completely encapsulated in epoxy and wont absorb any water.

Makes me wonder how aimrite came about there advertised numbers... Dan, does anyone at the pool ever question what your doing during these product tests/comparisons? I know I'd be curious if I saw such things going on.

You would have loved the first spot we jumped in, it was probably 70-80 feet and from the surface we could see the reef at the bottom. I dove about 30 feet to check out the life/fish/structure and realized it was out of our league although it looked real nice. We found that all day we were underestimating depth from the surface because of the the insane viz(my gps/fishfinder is out for repairs)

shallow - From deerfield to vista.
Late report for 4/4/12
BEST DAY OF DIVING I'VE EVER SEEN IN BROWARD!!!!! We dove from 8-2, water temp was mid 70s viz was 75+ lots of ornamentals and snapper. Seas were absolutely flat in the morning and about 2' when we were headed in.

both were 20 inches, mangrove was shot in 55' and holed up.I don't know what type the other snapper is but it was in 40-45 and holed up. I had to wrestle it away from a moray, hence the missing center section.I also shot 2 small lionfish

Welcome! I lived in Longmont and/or Loveland for 6 years.
-
beach it will have to be, I won't have to time clean the boat and store it before afternoon festivities.
I just checked the forecast and it doesn't look good, hopefully it improves between now and then

Anyone in the Broward area want to head out Sunday? I know it's Easter but not sure when I'll have another chance for a while. I just spent a week in Belize studying fish I couldn't shoot (MPA) so I want to put some on the grill!
I have to be in by noonish but I'm game, beach dive?

Dove today from 4-8 in central broward, viz was 25' at best and as bad as 10-15 in some spots. I found out pretty quickly that my 1.5mm rashguard isn't warm enough but kept searching for late season bugs. I saw 0 shootable fish but also no jellyfish, I got 1 lobster, found 3 keepers with eggs, and found 2 shorts. Glad to see lots of lobster reproducing hopefully next season will be as good as this year was.
P.S. the grouper must know they are safe I have seen more blacks since the season closed than I ever have when its open, today was no exception.

gotta love tracer rounds and a minigun
