Glad you guys like the pics. The gun in the first pic. Is an enclosed track 130cm custom That I built last year. The other two guns in a later pic are an Omer Master America 130cm and a 110cm Carbon Marlin with teak veneer. The 110cm Marlin is a yellow tail slaying machine. I am very lucky to be down in the Sea of Cortez for 4 to 6 months a year for the last 4 years. I normally sail around chasing the fish as the water and conditions change. The pic of the boat in the cove is taken from the top of Puente Pulpito. The diving off the point is some times challenging with 3-4 knot current. The current and deep water bring some amazing fish into the shadow of Pulpito.

Here is a galley formula for Ceviche. The only recipe I have ever been asked for.
Jasna
I have a very important question to ask you...
when you make your ceviche, do you put everything in the lime juice overnight (onions, tomato...) or just the fish? I am writing the recipe for the magazin and your ceviche was by far the best I ever had in Mexico, so tell me your secret please!!!8:47pm
James
I am glad you liked it here is the way I make it.
Ceviche Recipe
1. spear 15 lb Cabria.
2.Fillet and chop into 1/2" cube sized pieces
3. put in bowl with 4 parts fish to 1 part sweet white onion.
4. add cilantro to taste and put enough fresh lime juice in to cover fish. (make sure the fish is not very wet when you add the lime juice you can let it dry a bit before you chop it.)
5. leave for about 12 hours over night is best.
6. chop and add one tomato for every onion used mix into to fish and serve with corn chips and cold Pacifico. -

Hey Marco
It is a "Gulf Grouper" they shape of the gill plates made it easy to ID. These are very similar to broom tails. They don't as big as Golliaths. It was shot in the Sea Of Cortez at 40' All the local spearos tell me I was lucky to find one so shallow.

That is the spectra line from the shaft to the tip. The tip is still buried inside I had to cut the line in order to land the fish.

Marco This image gives away the location if any one is familiar with the northern sea of cortez. These fish are not uncommon in this area.

Marco here are a few more picks. One shows the cut slip tip line in the head . The dinghy is 10' long.

Gulf Grouper , Thanksgiving day 2011 , 5' 6" , weight? more than me 75-80 kilos?. Sea of Cortez

I have an andre 160 gold. I think it has always performed great. It is probably a better gun than the old Riffe blue water gun I owned but the difference is very small. I like the deeper shaft track on the Andre. I have used it for two years on a sail boat with limited fresh water so very little cleaning and lots of rough treatment with no problem.

Thanks for the update. I am driving down for a two month trip starting on saturday.I will be based out of Loretto. Is the pavement any closer to Gonzaga than it was last year and What kind of water temps. did you have?

Monster how about an Andre 160 gold. I have one with 4 5/8 bands and 67' x 5/16 shaft. It is not as pretty as many of the other guns but it is well balanced and accurate. I got one from Tim at Palapa's Ventana He had a brand new one at a great price about 6 months ago. If I'm right thats pretty close to you. I don't think it is deadly at 30' but likely at 26-27.
