Question - how do you store your flasher setup without getting everything all tangled up?

I use the Suunto D4 and I like it a lot. Used the Mosquito before that, but was never crazy about it for freediving because of the sampling rate (2 seconds). One of the buttons also broke once, but I was able to take it apart and repair it (an E-clip had broken that acted as the retainer).

:ashamed: Sorry, you're right. I really need to get some sleep. The hole is in the forward tab. My question should have been - should the loop be big enough to go around the second tab after the shaft leaves the gun? Or should I just make sure that the crimp can't contact the second tab?

Just replaced my pinned shafts with shark fin tabbed shafts and have a question. I'm attaching the shooting line to the second tab (there are 2). Should I make the loop big enough to go past the first tab (they're pretty close together)? In other words, the first tab would sit inside the loop when the line is wrapped. Or, should I make the loop small enough so that the crimp sits behind the first tab? I have 2 bands on this gun and will be using both tabs. These are Riffe shafts, approximately 168cm. Thanks.

I know these guys get mixed reviews, but it looks like you're local to them, so that shouldn't be an issue.

You can get neoprene shorts. I know Omer and Beuchat make them. I'm pretty sure you can get them in camo, too.

Great - thanks Rich and Dan. That's what I wanted to know. Now that I'm using shark fin tabs I figured I might try a thicker wishbone, but I don't want to increase the size of the knot.

Sorry to revive this thread, but I have a question about the sheet bend. Everything I've seen says that if the two lines being joined are of a different size, the end with the simple loop has to be thicker. Does anybody have any experience doing it the other way around - i.e. the loop is of a thinner cord material, and the wishbone is thicker? Just trying to think of a couple of combinations.

But the best advice I can give you is, have a beer with the local fisherman or outfitter where your diving or dive with guys that have dove the spots before and know what works in each area of the world.Successful hunting takes research and personal drive to find the fish.

I just have never chucked or chummed from my boat as I was responsible for the the safety of my crew. On many trips on my friends boat however we would fillet fish as we ran a live boat with two guys in the water one cutting and one at the helm. Some times at Tanner Bank ( 100 miles off shore) I would get creepy feelings as the boat ditched
carcasses of large Yellowtail and small tuna as I swam the currents... but I'm still here.:D;)
