Wild Recon?

  • Anybody watches it? It's sensationalized ala crocodile hunter but the guy know his shit, especially with snakes, and I saw him use a dart gun very accurately. Do you believe the "collecting samples for whatever.." explanation? I think that part only applies to snakes and just serves as an excuse for all the rest.

He said something very interesting when he was milking a tropical rattle snake; that one out of three times they're dry/don't have any venom. Now if it wasn't for guys like this how would you ever get to know something like that :)

  • Just ask Manny..... he lost his finger recently from a rattle snake bite while filming,:(:(

  • I really like "Killer Instincts" with Rob Bredl. It's an old show I doubt they show it anymore. Truly bad ass.

From Australia he has never worn shoes in his life and he's like 60 years old. Killing wildlife is prohibited in Australia but since he has aboriginal status he is allowed to and often walks around collecting food and participating in native hunts. Then he shows how to cook them and stuff.

It's cool to see him doing a show and picking up lobster sized crayfish from a stream, catching a fish, getting a kangaroo, picking up an ostrich egg or turtle etc then cooking it with his aborigine friends.

He talks about wildlife and survival. His dad was bit by a snake in the outback and died right in front of him and he still collects snakes.

I like one show where he is talking about survival and catches a fish. He guts it and throws away the fish saying that the flesh wont sustain you or something like that since it lacks in vitamins or something like that.

He gets the stomach, stuffs the heart, liver, etc into it and makes basically like a little fish sausage and cooks it.
