• Went out this afternoon in Central OC. We found vis in some spots to be as good as 15-18 feet. Lots of areas weren't nearly that good. I had a great dive. As I was sitting on the bottom, I had several small WSB swim above me. As soon as I surfaced a larger, legal WSB cruised under me. I had no shot. A few dives later I was scanning a small sand patch near some kelp looking for hali's. None found, but there sitting near a piece of kelp on the edge was a BSB. I have had fleeting glimpses of BSB in the past, but this guy just sat there. He wasn't huge, maybe 50 pounds. He just slowly cruised around. There was a decent calilco hanging right by the BSB's tail. I passed up on numerous shots on calico's and sandies. I kept thinking as soon as I shoot a calico, my wsb would re-appear. We never found any halibuts, never saw any more wsb. Although at one point I thought I heard some croaking. Late in the dive I found a sand patch that had several bat rays hanging out on. I made some dives looking for hali's. Several more batrays came in and circled above me. It was a pretty cool sight.

It was a very enjoyable dive. I ended up taking one sargo at the very end of the dive.

By the way, anybody have a report for PV? Thinking about diving there early tomorrow morning.

    Thanks,
    Darren
