Bag for the goat trails.....
New Dive Bag/Backpack for the cliffs

I picked up a semi-disposable (cheap ass) backpack off of ebay a few weeks ago. It’s a top loading design like the surplus ruk sacks we use for bigger fish. However, this pack has waist straps to get the load on your hips and off the shoulders. It also has some internal structure to give it some shape. Makes a huge difference on the climb out. Very secure and much more comfortable.

Nice price

Real nice Mike, thanks! I'm thinking of ordering one as a backup, will it fit a 50 lb fish in it without flopping out?

Not a problem.

Thanks Mike, for that $ even if found and it walks a way, not a bad deal. Might be a great place to stow a heavy duty trash bag to help with the fish slime.
Cheers, Don -

Cheers, DonVery good idea Don. I don't really mind the fish slime usually, but with a pack that isn't mesh it may be a little stinkier. This year to keep the good luck going I've hardly washed the slime off my suit and it seems to work like a charm:crazy:

I just carry a 4 leaf clover....:D
I used to have a Suoer Duty Ford for my wet dive gear. But now my Merc is my daily driver and dive buggy, so gear with a nasty stench is on longer a option.
Cheers, Don

Just an update on the bag. I don't think the fabric is UV stable. Its turning reddish like the old Yazbak wetsuits from sun exposure. I also took Don's advice and started packing some plastic liners to keep the bag less skanky.

I don't think the fish is UV protected either. It too has changed color.

Update: Bag lasted less then a year. It was good for carrying very heavy loads up the hills but ultimately fell apart......

Bummer I was thinking of upgrading to that bag when the army duffel bag you gave me finally wears out. Guess I'll just buy another army bag when mine wears out.
